It all just seems to be the result of ego and arrogance (by who? take your pick the point is the same regardless). If the admin was just honest and transparent, "I know we promised you to release everything we had about Epstein but we couldn't cause *actual reason why it can't be released*. We were overzealous and shouldn't have done that."
I think most people would understand. Even if they got angry cause of procedural bullshit or whatever it would be way more tempered than what's happening. This clear and frankly sloppy attempt at obfuscation is what's actually pissing people off.
Will it take down the admin? Absolutely not. But it's bad PR that could've easily been avoided.
That's the thing. If the current narrative were true, we'd be getting far more information than we are.
"He only had child porn, but nothing related to the island."
Okay, so give us a rundown of how many files, how many videos, how many pictures.
"So and so many were existing pictures already known the FBI and unrelated to Epstein himself"
"So and so many files that Epstein accessed through the internet, through a combination of dark web websites and chat groups known the FBI"
"None appeared to be taken at the island or at other residencies known to belong to Epstein"
"Epstein was not identified in any of the photos or videos nor was anyone consistent with Epsteins appearance found in the photos or videos."
"A myriad of files and information was found from the island, including cameras in the bedrooms and bathrooms, however none of these recordings showed illegal activities or implicated anyone in any crime. It is unclear why Epstein kept these, but there is no evidence that he transmitted these files to any third party and it appeared to be a private collection"

And so on and so forth. We would get something, even it was banal and boring.
Instead we get "nothing to see here, there was some child porn but that's all. No we won't tell you how much or where it came from, case closed."
Not even, "We are unable to discuss this as we're still reviewing the evidence in case there is any evidence of a crime" "we can't discuss open investigations"
It suggests there is more, they just don't want to talk about it, and aren't actively investigating.
