Pretty funny how she seems to honestly be more attracted to fat stomachs than to boobs given the discrepancy with how much care she puts into drawing the two accurately.

To be honest, I'm just surprised she's actually drawing another comic, even if it's only another 3 panels and looks like shit, and boy does it. The perspective and background are complete ass. I get that for most artists, the characters are the fun parts of a comic to draw, not the environment, but that's why you need to practice. This looks so lazy especially considering she considers being an online artist her "job" (lol). When she said she wanted to start taking this comic seriously, I'll admit a part of me did believe that meant she would spend more time planning and drawing it, but this looks incredibly rushed. Though I shouldn't be surprised; Autumn has an instant gratification problem, which means that despite having all the free time in the world, she needs to pump out this shit faster than an actual professional with a deadline, and post every WIP along the way to maximize attention and milk those sweet bluesky likes for all they're worth.

Setting aside the whole 'she doesnt know how to perspective and seeing things like this makes it REALLY apparent that the sudden suspiciously accurate props in her usual shit are all 1:1 eyeballed', I agree that you can tell no planning went into this.

I know Autumn has no training of any kind, but in a day and age where you can get a full art school education for free with online resources, there isn't much excuse anymore for not knowing how to thumbnail and plan something like this. She has no discipline, so its no surprise, but comics NEED planning. They just do. More than just about anything else other than full scene animation, you need to structure and plan ahead for any sort of cohesive end result. This isn't something where she can just cheat her way through with filters and eyeballing, there's way more to comics than just the individual panels.

She humblebrags all the time about being a phoneposter and just waffling her way through to lines without much construction sketching (which is admittedly a lot easier when every fucking drawing you produce is a variation of the same fat guntbeast) but this is a situation where the limitations of how she's working really will affect her. Autumn will smugpost day and night about actively handicapping her art and not realize that part of being a good artist is knowing HOW to work with the barest essentials, but also taking advantage of the resources available.

God, I forgot about that. For someone who bragged about how she would never go to art school because the professors would force her to "whitewash" her art or some shit, and that she can get everything she needs to learn about art from the internet, she certainly doesn't seem to take advantage of any of those online resources. Someone with nothing but free time and 0 real life responsibilities with the entirety of the World Wide Web at their fat fingertips has no excuse for not understanding how basic 2-point perspective works besides sheer laziness.

Also, I love that so far, every Hitomi and hitch comic has featured a bench. I hope it's the meta

I'm not a comic artist (would probably give it a shot if I was a NEET like puppy) but I feel like there's a fundamental issue with what the viewer is supposed to be focusing on. The first panel shows that hitch and hitomi are in the same space. Second panel is the exact same thing but slightly closer to hitomi (making the perspective weird and fucked up). third focuses on hitch being confused about something. I guess this will depend on what kind of plot (if any, which I'm guessing there won't be) will occur.

If we're supposed to be focusing on hitomis thoughts in the second panel, why include a second hitch and complete background redraw at all? it's redundant, you could've zoomed in on hitomi completely for 1) indulgent rendering bc i know hitomi is puppy's favorite, 2) less drawing, 3) clearer focus and more variation in panel sizes. but puppy loves redundancy and inconsistency so why would I expect anything else

edit because I'm autistic as shit: a weeb made a fujimoto glazing video about how important panelling in manga/comics is, so I'm surprised pup isn't taking direct inspo from that considering being a fire punch fan etc etc

Little tip, Autumn. I would recommend opening your story by establishing a little of the world/characters you're taking us into, since you mentioned its a stigma for cats and mice to be together... SHOW THAT. Do an internal monologue on how both characters see the city or something. Or something integral they're struggling with. I.E. fat mouse needs money to help with groceries because her mom is struggling to afford them on her own. On the opposite side, brick cat needs to get a job because his parents are tired of him leeching off their ass.

SOMETHING that can give us a introduction to the world. Then you can show both of the tramps getting ready for a job interview or even their first day of work. Whatever. But it has to tie into the plot as well. What is the conflict? These two cannot get together because they think the other is hot and they're both trans and hate society. That is retarded as shit.

I am so fucking curious of she even wrote a cohesive script out beforehand or just dived right in...

I did hear that Morpho is a good reference for artists, but at the same time, I've seen other artists recommend not to use it as a reference 24/7. I cant exactly recall why, but I'm sure it has to do with the fact that its drawn instead of a real life reference. Also, that's horrifying, maybe that's why Autumn's posing looks so stiff and ugly, because she's always using herself and Wis as references. Talk about narcissistic.

I'm a pretty big fan of morpho personally, but a lot of people who suggest it don't use it as a tool in the way it was likely intended to be.

also, there's multiple morpho books but tumblrinas mostly only focus on the "fat and skin folds" edition of it (ppc-flavored social justice posts that have that specific book photoshopped onto the dr. phil L image when talking about drawing fat ppl).

I'd suggest pup looks into "simplified forms and shapes" because there seems to be no grasp on consistent anatomy and having shortcuts in mind could round these issues out. copying these books should only really be done during studies, not just copied for drawings because that doesn't commit anatomical information to memory. fat and skin folds is useful to get a grasp of what it's like, but it should change from art style to art style because, like you said, they're drawings and not irl people. but we know pup doesn't study because that wouldn't get the same amount of engagement as goonerisms

Call me a hater but I'll bet 90% of people who own this book are fat fetish furry artists because nobody wants to see this sort of body in art outside of very niche purposes. I could appreciate us having fat old ladies in for figure drawing sessions because they were very patient and lovely people and an excellent exercise to draw, but I can't think of a single time where I've needed to draw on that firsthand knowledge of how to draw bingo wings because sue me, I like drawing attractive people and I think most people do the same.

Autumn, on the other hand, probably flicks her bean to the damn thing. I'll bet you could find half her art as 1:1 exact poses from this thing, but I don't hate myself enough to go and look.
