Let me take a guess at what's going on. Phil was in connecticut visiting his parents and it was his parents (well probably mostly his mom) who encouraged Phil to start going after the trolls after he spent the entire time crying about being harassed and bullied by detractors and begging them to keep everything a secret so trolls don't find out anything. He probably told them there can't be a public obituary for his mom for example so his parents told him he really needs to get the detractor stuff under control. He probably freaked them out when he was visiting and absolutely terrified to leave his parents house and complaining that detractors are posting pictures of his porch while he's gone. Phil acting like a paranoid lunatic probably made his parents want him to fight back against the trolls.

What he wrote to ppp in the dm's is true. His mother is sick and he wanted to/had to visit.

The whole sperging about suing detractors is partially because he's seen the H3 Drama and partially because he wants to distract detractors from focusing on his mother, the dm's etc.

On Phil being good or bad at fighting game never forget this gem of the Streetfigher 6 demo where he fought against ChrisG. He got roflstomped 13-0 (I think he never even got one round in) and ChrisG at one point says "Has this guy really played Streetfighter for over 10 years?"

I don't follow DSP but I have been watching a lot of CvS2 and Justin Wong content recently, and saw a video where they ran into each other on ranked. I heard DSP is dogshit at games but he did surprisingly well against a professional player, one of the best, he even almost won at one point. Is he just good at this game in particular or maybe this genre, or something? I know the developers of God of War said they made the game with low skilled players like him in mind.

Honestly though seeing how much he struggles with basic ass mods on a game like Minecraft I wouldn’t be surprised if he has no idea how to download the roms and actually get fightcade working.

Funny enough there's a json file that you place in one of the fc folders that automatically downloads the roms when you enter a game lobby. I'm not entirely sure if something bad could actually happen if his IP address was leaked on there but he could easily use a vpn to mask it with not much impact on his connection.

If he was really about it; he could have every game running on different monitors and just switch to whichever source he finds a match on minimizing his idle time

This reminds me of a sped I knew back in college. One of his hobbies was going around challenging people to an old version of mortal kombat on his laptop. I accepted his offer once, and he gave me a shitty controller, and beat me before I figured out the controls. He then bragged about his running tally of winning 99 games in a row. Afterwards he told me about his ability to crush a man's head with the strength of his thighs. I also saw him wearing a naruto headband between classes a few times. There's no point to this story either, I just figured anyone interested in DSP would enjoy a few stories about this guy.

This does kinda brings up the fact that Phil has an ego when it comes to videogame and I cannot think of a time I've held up using my videogame skills as a way to make me feel superior to someone except Splatoon 3 and that has mostly kids playing.
It always comes down to well its just a videogame, and a waste of time now that I'm older and it doesn't really translate to irl skills.

Phil is 43? years old now and still tying his ego to a videogame because it's all he has. You take the one genre he's okay at(due to the niche and small pool of players specifically these old boomer fighters), and it doesn't really amount to anything. The only thing that really translates from those fighting games for him is just being a complete nigger to get a win out of people(mostly people he ranks above and can bully). Big fish in a small pond.

The games like System Shock remake, the racing games, and any sort of puzzle game really shows where he is at in the world. Just a complete bumbling idiot.

It's not impossible, but I think he'd flee to Kick and urge his whales to support even more to own the trolls and show them they can't bully him off the internet as opposed to taking a week off and not saying a thing. Or at least resort to begging on Twitter

Yeah, that makes sense. I guess he could be afraid of/embarrassed of a strike being found out, making a full break more appealing, but his greed would overcome.

Its possible but I doubt that would be his reaction, seems much more likely he would use it as a rallying point or just quiety stream on DSP reacts for a week and call it an experiment or something retarded.

I have no evidence of this but I have to assume certain lolcows like DSP are almost bullet proof to reports on YouTube at this point, there has to be so much noise and false reports that his channel is just ignored. There is just straight up porn on youtube now, DSP seems like a pretty tame policy breaker in comparison.

Phil’s gloating about his new gaming PC and setup but honestly it killed the tiny bit of atmosphere he had on his streams. Back when he had the crappy cam and was stuck on console, it felt more raw and unfiltered. Now, it’s just sterile and even more annoying.
