The important part to get context clues from is how Kris and even Susie react to it. Susie seems disgusted, leaving curtly. To me the scene didn't feel like it was really being played for awkward laughs than it was shown to be viscerally upsetting.
I've never been in that position before so I'm not projecting on Kris, but that scene with him putting the pillow on his head and tossing and turning to the sound of them talking and stuff downstairs was disturbing in a way that you know what's happening is traumatizing in some way to Kris.

Kris also has a subtle animation during the scene where he looks down, he's ashamed he brought his friend home just for her to see this.

Its not the end of the world for Toriel to date a guy, or have fun, but when you're a parent it's a bad look in general to be piss stupid drunk and about to be bent over the couch when your kid is home. Kris and Susie also just had an exceptionally shitty day. Your parents should be a source of comfort on days like that, they can't do that when they're more interested in getting fucked while blasted than being a good role model.

For all we know, this also isn't the first time something like this has happened. Toriel was apparently something of a party animal. Maybe drinking isn't new for her.

That's Gestalt (which sucks). Clair's authentic depressing french written by french people, has every swearword from both french and english, and the first real fight in the game is you beating the shit out of a mime for no reason. It's actually really funny with that, it's got every negative french stereotype you can imagine loud and proud and the developers were laughing their asses off at people complaining about them.

If Chapter 3 wasn't so mishandled, there would've been a big section where all the characters were on a dating show with El and La fighting, then you'd have all these jokes with Ralsei and Susie and Kris. But nope, just Zelda shit.

I really think what's gonna happen is the dark worlds will be shut down for good with the lightners told to go live their lives, then Susie will move away with a new outlook on life that she can make friends anywhere.
