From Lex's POV, he isn't defaming Superman, he's exposing the truth about him. It would be easier for him to frame Superman, or kill Superman, or just ignore Superman altogether, but none of those scratch the particular itch he has, which is to prove to everyone else that he's right and Superman is wrong. He is undone by being a neurotic nutjob with dumb, petty goals.I like the logic of instead of using your perfect superman clone that's perfectly obedient to defame superman by committing atrocities, you instead break into his secret lair, hack into his computer then use a message he never heard himself to do things he has never come close to doing to defame him.
This was the plan of the super mega genius who has no problem committing horrible atrocities?
Also, Damon Wayans might sue:
Now that you mention it, I don't see how that's ever going to make sense. That message fragment can't be the only thing Superman knows about his parents if he's hanging out with his cousin.the fact Kryptonians are more fucked up wouldnt bother me, if Supergirl didnt exist. My problem is moreso, if they know each other well enough for him to dog sit, why has she never told him what their culture was like? I think it's sort of interesting that's probably why she has such an issue adjusting to Earth. But it shouldn't be any surprise to Clark because she'd probably have told him when they met how different attitudes are here with some specific examples.
