You're not wrong, but at the end of the day he was still on record as saying he'd release it. Most of this just reeks of the Democrats clasping on to something that seems to have gained some traction, but it's obvious they shouldn't push too hard or it blows up in their face just as badly. None of this sinks Trump or MAGA as badly as they want you to believe it does and that it took six months to find anything that even worked this well is really just a testament to how successful Trump has been.
I think Trump would be better off just releasing it without caring about the consequences. I'm sure there are plenty of people telling him that he can't for a million different reasons, but how is that any different than his first term where he listened to the same sort of people telling him he can't. His immigration policy and the success it has borne shows that not only can he, but the people telling him he couldn't were completely wrong, full of shit, and were never worth listening to in the first place.
Unless he really thinks that he will be killed for doing so, there's no reason for him to not release it. I can't possibly know the chaos that will arise from it, but I do know there's a certain former and current POTUS that can ride that kind of tiger like no other man.
