I have a life. I have been promoted and gotten pay rises over the last few years. I am working to get to where I want to be in life, and I am a in a better life position than Nick. I am trying to build something I can be proud of in 20-30 years.

Nick fails to realise the dead-end he has chosen for his life, and how lonely and empty he will feel when everyone around him and the things he thought would make him happy dissapoint.

Around the 0:30 mark, Nick complains that Hardin has no legal claim to the bodycam footage under Minnesota law. He misrepresents Hardin’s position as relying solely on the argument that the footage was mistakenly entered into evidence. Nick sarcastically adds, “A court admin messed up, so the privacy interests of me, my child, my wife—those don’t matter anymore.”

Even with Nick’s biased framing, Randazza responds, “To be honest, that’s not a retarded theory. I’ve made similar arguments in other cases.” He goes on to add, “I take a very expansive view of what the court should disclose.”
