Cats are not the easiest to groom. Specialist cat groomers are still rare here in the US, a lot of dog groomers don't know how to deal with cats, and obviously these two retards weren't going to find a cat groomer in Damascus. So I assume it was done by the equivalent of a vet tech, or even a kennel tech with no veterinary training, who was more concerned with getting the mats off the poor cat than aesthetics, and hasn't been asked to do a full lion cut very often.

Sometimes even a skilled groomer has to stop despite it being an ugly job because it's causing too much stress for the cat, and that's understandable. But this is just a shitty job. It's probably the best they can get, given where they are, though.

The one redeeming factor here is that Julia's no longer suffering from the constant pulling of all her mats, or enduring poop matted into the fur on her rear end, and she'll be free from that for the better part of a year until her fur gets long enough to start matting again.

people tried to groom him, but he's 10kg of muscle with 1cm long claws, and if u make one mistake, he'd rip ur arm open (his claws are more than long enough to get through ur skin)

when it gets too matted, he goes and scratches it off on a tree, leaving a pile of fur on the floor, and a lot less dreadlocks

Chantal's already sad that she rarely sees stray cats, but sees lots of stray dogs. The dogs are the reason she doesn't see stray cats. If Julia gets tossed out on her own, and is not a good hunter (lots of coddled domestic cats aren't), she'll die of starvation, dehydration, dog attack, or target practice by a bored human. Unless Chantal leaves and takes her to Canuckistan, it'sa given that things won't end well for her.

In other words, according to this admittedly crude measure, overall interest in Foodie has never been lower in six years, except for the past few weeks. Her peak remains the early crackhead olympics days; I doubt anything short of a beheading will match the frenzied posting that happened back then.
