Being racist to men is fine. Being racist and including women in a way that relates to man hate, such as pointing out how women of certain cultures cover for their rapefugee sons and brothers, is fine. A tactic of mine is to carry a long umbrella or a rolling luggage bag to be able to put some distance between myself and oncoming foot traffic. Swing it in front of yourself, look them in the eye and make a fucking FACE and they generally will move out of your fucking way.

In order of usefulness, the best response is to run, call for help, use a weapon, and only if all else fails should you attempt to use hand-to-hand skills to immobilize an attacker. It's better to avoid a physical confrontation wherever you can, because an untrained man will still get the better of a trained woman in most situations. The point of learning self-defense is to quickly immobilize or slow down an attacker so you can use the first two options (run and scream).
