Containment Random Thoughts & Questions

I just wonder if anyone else here ever has any dreams about Chris. I don't know why, but I have this recurring dream about going to meet Chris, him showing me all his Sonichu comics, and then going out in his car to a cigar shop and buying a box of cigars. Then the dream ends and I wake up.

I have no idea what this dream means, yeah sure go for the easy route and claim its Freudian.

Looking forward to the return of the Captain's Log today. I don't think it will be that funny though and just Chris talking about stuff he cares about and thinks other people would care about. Whoever is in contact with him now (and he is absolutely being directed by someone suggesting these things...) doesn't seem to be going for lulz and just trying to get him to make more appearances. I don't have any issues with that. Anyways, I don't expect fireworks, but it will be nice to hear him say Captain's Log - Star date..." again.

Old Chris is dead. He's been eaten by a giant cross-dressing pervert with a microscopic penis who claims to be a lesbian woman trapped in a man's body.

I think this is pretty straightforward: you want to go on a date with Chris subconsciously and see all the treasured items that represent his inner soul, then marry him. The store symbolizes the finality and contract-like nature of the proceedings, while the meaning of the cigars is pretty self-explanatory. Are you ready to be MRS. Christopher Weston Chandler, @Goochole?

Watching the livestream today and the way his cat was acting towards him reminded me of an old Stardate log he made about 8 years ago where his cat threatened his life.

It got me thinking. Do his pets hate him? He did murder them all by arson at one point. Does this batch hate him just as bad?

Also called the dilemma of determinism, we do not know if our actions are controlled by a causal chain of preceding events (or by some other external influence), or if we're truly free agents making decisions of our own volition. Philosophers (and now some scientists) have been debating this for millennia, and with no apparent end in sight. If our decision making is influenced by an endless chain of causality, then determinism is true and we don't have free will. But if the opposite is true, what's called indeterminism, then our actions must be random — what some argue is still not free will. Conversely, libertarians (no, not political libertarians, those are other people), make the case for compatibilism — the idea that free will is logically compatible with deterministic views of the universe. Compounding the problem are advances in neuroscience showing that our brains make decisions before we're even conscious of them. But if we don't have free will, then why did we evolve consciousness instead of zombie-minds? Quantum mechanics makes this problem even more complicated by suggesting that we live in a universe of probability, and that determinism of any sort is impossible. And as Linas Vepstas has said, "Consciousness seems to be intimately and inescapably tied to the perception of the passage of time, and indeed, the idea that the past is fixed and perfectly deterministic, and that the future is unknowable. This fits well, because if the future were predetermined, then there'd be no free will, and no point in the participation of the passage of time."

So do the cigars represent me being pregnant with his daughter Crystal?

Are mr. Chandler and I destined to be together? After all as Chris says it these dreams are shown to us by GOD and the bear to show us our destiny?

I don't think God is very involved with Chris's lovelife. :optimistic:

We hope.

What do you guys think Chris and Barb are doing for Easter? Do you think Barb still gets him an Easter basket? Perhaps they go to barbs sister Harriet Ashby's house for roast duck and mashed potatoes?

Chris puts easter eggs, M&M's and Sonichu medallions up his goochole and then Barb goes treasure hunting.

Goochole... it may be time to retire the gooch jokes.

But yeah, I admit to being curious if Barb still tries the kiddie stuff with him or if he's just left to his own devices. I imagine him playing the role of "adult" while she just stares off into endless oblivion.

Random thought: I still find it weird to see video of Chris in HD or at least with proper white balance. The sickly yellow-green tint of his broken PSEye is inextricably associated with my mental image of him. It's the difference between seeing a photo from 1910 and version that's been colourised.

I think the simultaneous change in his video quality and environment low-key influences how people perceive current Chris compared to old Chris.

We're simply not used to seeing him like that so of course we'll find it odd. Here's an example of something:
It's a video of everyday life in NYC in modern HD which looks outright surreal for looking so normal because we're used to seeing that era in poor quality as far as video is concerned.

It probably looked decent as a photograph in a paper much like this, of course the transition to HD sources perhaps had some getting used to for a good majority of us used to seeing 525/625 horizontal lines chasing through a cathode ray tube.

Speaking of up-to-date, with the recent Windows 10 Creators update, though I'm sure Chris will never work on a PC again, what are the chances of him ever considering dabbling in Paint 3D?

Wow, could you guys imagine if Chris lived in New York? He wouldn't be able to survive...
