Playing Devil's advocate here: Ruben did say that his more rabid fans send people death threats for being cringe, which wouldn't surprise if there were minors involved. I don't think it's anyone's job to wrangle their own followers, but hey, it would be a small act of kindness.

Yeah, it's very transparently a weapon that they use to try to assert control over the discourse. They keep pointing back to it in order to try to make people dismiss Ruben entirely and no longer listen to anything he says, so he doesn't have the chance to "turn them against us" or whatever.

It's very similar to tactics used by these same kinds of people against this very forum. They try to bring up the Byuuicide or the false assertion that all information here (even the crap we have archives of!) is always fabricated, trying to memetically force a loaded assumption that any information from the farms is instantly false. All to try to convince people to disregard information we have that threatens their public image.

These two cases are not very different from each other in spirit. Ruben exposes a lot of people for what they are, so their way of damage control is to do crap like this.
