I'm probably an idiot for responding to this... likely no answers here that won't make me look foolish. Here goes.
I don't mean any harm with my questions.
I can't speak for the other degenerate slappers in here though.

You seem like you enjoy talking to us and you're more articulate than most other lolcows that are on site.
Why not take advantage of that?
Oh, how could I pick just a few favorites? Let 100 flowers bloom. Let 100 viewpoints be expressed.
Fair but instead I will rephrase the question and tell you to pick a top five otherwise the government will shoot your dog or something.

Alternatively, you could let us know your favourite post on the site and why.
You can only pick one.
Would you like to know the rude version that we learn in primary (elementary) school or will that ruin it for you?
A little bit. Not as much as I should; maybe once a week or so, I should go twice a week. I try to stay active walking the dog with my husband and gardening. But I have hit a bit of a plateau. I am still weighing in at 216 after a few weeks, so I stopped losing weight. I need to tune up what I'm doing a little bit, clearly.
Hmmm. A few weeks of plateau on a GLP-1 might mean you need a dose increase.
If you're still on the base dose (2.5mg) then maybe you need the 5mg. Warning - the side effects are likely to be worse though.

See if you can increase the exercise a bit more because it will help maintain muscle as you lose weight.
You don't have to go to the gym and do HIIT - walking the dog and doing some body weight stuff at home should be sufficient.

Remember to track your water and your protein too. Water is the most important.
Some patients tend to reduce their water intake due to the slowed gastric emptying of the drug.
I do not. The kiwi autists always have the goods in a major way.
I'm majorly grateful to the Supreme Feeder for not kicking me out once unmasked.
Well that's good.

More questions:
1) What book would you recommend every KiwiFarmer read and why?
You're not allowed to pick the bible or any other religious text.

2) How do you feel about the Trump administration? Are you happy with the progress so far?

You flatter me. I wasn't really referring to your questions but the statement Meiwaku made about being married to a Chinese immigrant. That felt more sharp, which is fine, that's the tone of the forum usually when discussing lolcows. I don't even think she feels that way about me globally, just perhaps on this one topic.

Well, Dyn is/was (I haven't seen him for awhile) a very welcoming and funny guy.
I like Aunt Carol and Otterly because they are medfags
Agendaposter was cool but I think he's gone, so I'll replace with stupid frog.
For the last one... I'm gonna go with Magic Pickle and Dr. Butt to share the prize of excellence in the SRS thread, because medical gore is my jam.

Sure, why not? Let me hear it.

I'm on 5mg/week now, we are going to increase the dose in a week or two (depending on when I can get the meds.)
Tirzepatide has been mercifully decent with its side effects, besides the primary effect of dulling hunger, food craving, and the rewardingness of food (and alcohol, to a lesser extent) things are really not too bad.
Ozempic was god awful on side effects though. I had really bad stomach pain that got worse after eating. I might have tolerated that if its effects were gangbusters but I only lost a modest amount of weight (from food avoidance) and I became a lot less active (lying in bed groaning because of stomach pain.)

Hm. I guess it would probably be Pornography by Andrea Dworkin. I think that book expounds on a social problem (porn) that has only become worse with time, as Andrea writes in a very analog world where porn is acquired at adult book stores and sex shops on 42nd Street; but we live in an era when you can get all the porn you want, delivered right to your device, practically whenever you want it, real fast and cheap or even for free (depending on what you're looking at.) I don't think anyone in the 80's or 90's thought that could happen, but Andrea's explanation of why porn is linked to sexism and rape is very succinct and hard to deny, and the patterns were there even 40 years ago and are basically unchanged. The problem has just gotten so much worse now and if she were still alive I imagine she would still be speaking out about the inherent violence of porn and the sexism of pro-porn liberals like say, Dan Savage, who think the solution to porn's misogyny and violence is for feminists to start making "feminist porn", which is a contradiction in terms like "kosher cheeseburger."
2) How do you feel about the Trump administration? Are you happy with the progress so far?
I voted for Trump this time around and I am about 60% satisfied. I'm very satisfied with his swift action to protect women and girls in sports and public-but-private spaces like toilets and locker rooms. I am reasonably happy with the performance in the crypto markets and stock market... though the both markets cratered during the 1st 100 days they seem to be on the mend. So that's good for me and my family. I am happy that he's finally decided that he can't keep dealing with Putin. I am generally optimistic about his ideas and willing to give them a try even it's against my usual liberal dogma of Good Political Ideas.

I am not so satisfied with the following: China (and global) tariff policy. The seesawing will-he-won't-he is anxiety-producing. Like on NPR radio in March it was said that US customers could run out of "juvenile products" - stuff like baby bottles and sippy cups - because the 140% tariff or whatever on Chinese imports would make it impossible to import them cost-effectively. Well, I can't make sippy cups, and there is no secondhand market for sippy cups, so what's to do? I bought like six more sippy cups (and other baby things, like kid's furniture) because I was worried I might not be able to get them later or they would be very expensive. So it isn't just nice to haves like "girls might only have two dolls instead of ten" that are affected but have to haves like lunchboxes, clothes, etc. that may be affected. And this is just one sector of my life - global tariff means it would affect every other facet as well. Like, we are thinking of replacing the dishwasher as well, and that's gonna get hit with tariff for sure.

But then Trump backed down on tariff, but maybe now it's back on again? It's difficult to plan ahead when Trump and his administration are so unpredictable. Prices on food are still sort of high. Still miles better than Biden or Harris though.

I really admire Trump for his energy and his determination. When he is mad, the earth shakes in Washington, but it didn't used to be that way. It used to be Obama was roasting him at the 2016 Press Correspondent's Dinner thinking there was no way in hell he could win. And Trump was livid about that, but he channeled that energy into WINNING. So that's quite inspiring. I think this election was sewn up for Trump after he survived the assassination attempt. It drew some interesting parallels for me. (e.g. I would have been more understanding of Harris stepping in as the nominee if Joe Biden had been tragically shot at a campaign rally... but the circumstances under which the Harris switcheroo happened just felt super scummy to me. Like I'd been lied to for months and was expected to eat another load of tripe.)

He does all of the following:
> walks dog 5x per week (not easy if you've seen our dog)
> puts Tilly to sleep every night
> cooks dinner ~2-3 times per week
> about 50% of pickup and dropoff to daycare
> (seasonally) run snowblower as needed
> pays for biweekly maid service to mop floors and clean bathrooms
> his job which I can't get into here in detail.
This honestly isn’t bad. Housework and child wrangling are the big things and if you’re not working and he’s doing that and bringing in the dough I think you have an OK deal. of course how he treats you generally is important as well, but if you like each other and have family support it ain’t bad.

I work on a part-time basis (25 hrs per week) and he's self-employed.

Ah ok. 60% ish is not trivial with a tiny kid around. Does he bring in good money? (No need to answer, just me being nosy.) do you need to work?
The small child years are hard however you slice it I think. They’re just hard work. It gets easier as they get more capable of doing the basics themselves.

Ozempic is evil. Absolutely ruined my gut, as well as making it useless to try and drink. I mean I don't drink a lot any more, but I love a splash of whiskey in my coffee in the morning more for the taste, but I can't even do that now.

The dopamine release from alcohol is blocked by Oz so you get no buzz whatsoever and the headache and stomachache you get instead makes it seem like you go right from the drink to the hangover with no good times in between. No matter if it's a small or large amount. The benefits are not worth the side effects imo. I've tapered down to .25ml a week and next week zero. Fuck Ozempic.

I know they don’t explicitly say so but given the effects on the pancreas I will be unsurprised if alcohol plus glp1 don’t mix.
Being nosy, did it result in weight loss?

It's complicated. Short answer is: yes, sometimes.
(No need to answer, just me being nosy.) do you need to work?
Not really, from a financial perspective, but I want to work. It gives me some structure, routine, some expectations and purpose.

You're telling me. We are starting potty training and I'm having flashbacks to Bear peeing all over the house as a puppy.

There is a kaleidoscope of hard to tolerate side effects from Ozempic. Maybe ask your doctor about Zepbound, if you feel like you can't tolerate the Ozempic. I found it way easier to tolerate and more effective.

I do think it's nice that we have these drugs now. Used to be your options for medically treating obesity were pretty bad; like you could get on phentermine (it's a stimulant), or you could use orlistat (aka Alli) which literally binds to fat in your gut so you're pooping oil, or what? fen-phen, which is phentermine + heart exploding drug. DNP which is dangerous enough to kill people.

The good news is that in a few years

Imagine not cooking dinner 7 days a week. Good food is too important to be left to women
I know right? Could you even imagine leaving kashrus to women to uphold?

That's one of the bourgiest things you've said so far, that it's couched in a paragraph about how Trump has been good for your crypto speculation is just gravy.

There is a second hand market for anything baby related. Used bottles, "expired" car seats, lots and lot and lots of clothes, toys, and furniture. You must've never even known people second hand that have known hardship to have that kind of take.

Yeah, but it ultimately depends how good she cleans it after she buys it, though. Another (but extremely retarded) option is using an 3D printer to make one. Of course, you'll have to make it out of an very specific material and accept the fact that it'll eventually turn into a biohazard

I wasn't prescribed it for weight loss, but it's original use for blood-sugar level management, yet I'm finding no change in my level (dead in range morning and night) as I taper down and when it's been out of my system for a week or two I'll be very interested to see my levels. Right now I trust Ozempic about as much as I trust statins.

I remember Fen-Phen, my mother was prescribed it back like 30 years ago when it was the new wunderdrug combo for weight loss. It didn't do shit for her snacking but made her an insane bitch to deal with. Crankenstein housewives was what that shit made.

All 3D printed toys should be 3+ because there is no way something 3D printed should ever go in someone's mouth. I know we're all full of micro-plastics now anyway, and it's just pissing in the ocean at this point, but I will at least be indignant about it still!

Sorry I missed this. It wasn't prescribed for weight loss, but I did lose a bit of weight due to not eating much after breakfast and tossing anything eaten after noon into the toilet as often as not. Semaglutide sucks.

Alternatively, she can just teach Mini-Stan how to use an cup and straw, earlier than usual.
