Looking back at the boards I used to be on, it's much worse as well. /mu/ is just kpop general, and you might as well call the entire board /kpop/, the janitors (supposedly I believe it was two) who are supposed to keep the tards contained constantly failed. The other generals are slapfights, or gooning over female artists. /trv/ is still the same sex tourists, but more blatant with their yellow and brown fevers. /his/ is still haploid group autism and religion flame wars. And without a surprise /g/ is still incompetent with tech.

As an eternal newfag that has been there since around late 2006 or early 2007 (I forget.), I wholeheartedly agree. What few good posters the site had have obviously not returned. I’m making far less posts myself and only occasionally still look at it, only to leave annoyed or bored. I agree about /vr/ specifically, it’s like a different board now. It used to be one of the better gaming boards, probably since its posters were a bit older, instead of the usual brown shitposting zoomer retards from /v/. I’ve already attempted a few times to drop the site for good. It’s going okay, since I find myself going on there less and leaving much faster when I do bother showing up. The “you’re here forever” curse may finally be broken, and I only have Hiro and the tranny jannies to thank for that.
Exactly, the most obnoxious people on 4chan remain and they prefer it there. It's easy to bypass a ban there, it's easy to sperg out and meltdown 24/7, screaming into voids like lunatics, and to be fair, they aren't likable anywhere but 4chan where they can argue with likeminded schizos, or in some cases samefag through proxies.
It's impressive how even gookmoot even chased out the ones who would actually be there forever. Glad you are breaking your addiction, I only go back occasionally to see what the fuck has happened but other than that, I'm even bored by what happens there. It's not entertaining, it's like seeing something you previously enjoy rot away. Now the website may have always been doomed, but when the average third worlder getting their budget phones happened, it was all over.
