Most autistic thing you've purchased lately - c'mon feel the cringe

Bowls of my childhood, from a restaurant supply store (in meatspace):

Time to make popcorn or salad with dressing from a cruet with the recipe printed on the side.
My mum has one of those, she uses it to chop up her weed.

Also, I bought a rather nice charger. I have two laptops (a ThinkPad and a MacBook) instead of a desktop. I also have a power bank that’ll charge at 140W. It’s a great charger, but it’d want to be for the price.

Paid the guy laying the tarmack on the area of the building on the farm that's becoming the better part of me's Vet surgury, he's going to get some work off me as well so that knocked it down some but not as much as i'd have liked.

I did find a rather nice copy of Issac Walton the Complete angler for sale online from before the turn of the last century that's fully hand illustrated on loose leave sheets in a cloth case, case is a bit rough but the artworks stunning, I've put a offer on it hoping to hear back soon.

Anker makes amazing stuff. They’ve got some new stuff coming out that is going to be industry game changers. Lmk how the charger does, it’s on my list.

Thread tax - I got a new dog 🐕

After using it for a few days and giving it a workout (charging dead laptops and power banks at the same time) and it’s great. The app is really nice, it will connect via Bluetooth or WiFi. And believe it or not, you even have achievements.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think you could gamify a charger.

Seeing that the fakes were beginning to drown the number of remaining originals, I finally decided to take the plunge while I still could:

ReMent's Kuromi's Gothic Room set. I wasn't expecting it to be quite as tiny as it is, damn. I'm also having trouble finding a display case with the right dimensions for the back ground and wall prints, so I'm probably going to have to make some polite overtures to a friend of a friend who has a laser cutter. I can't see the point of saving up to buy this set, only to have it look like crap in some oversized, badly proportioned display case.

I've also girded my loins and replaced our extremely mismatched, badly chipped accumulation of crockery for a matching set of plates and bowls. With every day that passes, I feel that I become more and more like my mother, who is personally offended by things like mismatched dinner plates. I refuse to give up my random mug collection, however. There needs to be a line in the sand, somewhere.

Right in the continuing saga of owning a small holding - I've had enough of fucking Water Bill's and I'm doing something about it.

My little patch of heaven is close enough to a village that when mains water was ran from the big reservoir 40ish miles away the farm got connected (also when it got it's original mains electricity hookup) but the bills are fucking retarded and for my place totally unnecessary.

1) I have a small spring on the land but it's not suitable for drinking water, an hasn't got enough head to do anything meaningful but it provides water to my woodland an drains into.
2) A "Pond"calling it a pond is generous, it was once a pond but it's now silted up an is more of a marsh that get's on my tits.
3) A Covered Well that used to be used for the drinking water on the farm.

This morning while enjoying my coffee the memory of the water bill rose in my mind and I thought fuck that, I've got my own water here I am going to do some investigation, so I've orderd quite a few water testing kits that I can get a fast read from then send off to a lab for verification an certification.

But the well about 90 meters from the house was covered at some point post WW2 with a concrete plinth, so I toddle off to the workshop to get my little bobcat digger an take a look after a couple of hours digging and overloading my little bobcat I finnaly got it open a stone lined shaft about 2ft square about 30 or 40ft deep, no bad smells, no intrusive growth an the stonework looks remarkably in tact, I then turned my attention to the Pond.

The Ponds on all the OS maps an on the survey says that yes it is indeed a natural pond about 3/4 a acre, it looks like i'll just need to clean it out with a digger, and then let it refill an stock some fish in it - how I'll do this I have no idea without losing a digger to the mud I have no idea but it will be fun finding out but I've got a friend coming around tomorrow to take a look who manages building sites (like big ones, think hospitals, shopping centres, etc) who will have some ideas.

Todays outlay has been about £1000 mostly for the testing kits (it's the lab verification that gets you) and it's going to cost me a lot more by the time I am done but it will be cheaper than paying the fucking water bill for the next 40 odd years.

That's not even autistic. That's based.

Thank you, I'm looking at rebuilding the pig pens tomorrow going to get some rare bread pigs at some point and I've got some old pig pens that need rebuilding before I do so I've got to rebuild them I've got some time between commerical work I've got on so the food production side of the property is getting some love while the weather is decent.

You should talk to this Water Bill, see if you can negotiate.

"Mr. Waterson? Can I call you Bill? or William? I think there's been a mistake with the utility fees for my homestead, I was hoping we could check the numbers together."

Now seriously, investing in your house and living standards is never autistic.
