Umamusume: Pretty Derby - Horse fuckers and gacha addicts get sent to the glue factory

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I read a comment from a Japanese guy on a video about the Kitasan Black banner and he said that in the Japanese version not getting a maxed out Kitasan Black was like being a second-class citizen in the game for the next 4 years. Apparently it took a very long time for her to get powercrept.
I keep hearing this, and reading their abilities and every other support cards abilities I simply don't understand why.
I kind of wish I rolled for more twin turbos instead, my level 35 of that has been my MVP since the very start. Her skills seem way more relevant (though KB does have some good ones) and TTs events always give me so much speed and great front runner tips.

Can I get an autistic breakdown of why KB is so good? I feel like I'm pretty good at the game by just reading what everything does, but just by reading what everything does I can not understand why KB is so good. I've read things like she has a lot of events that improve your mood, and I couldn't care less about that because I am always max mood. So what is it? I am genuinely curious for a fully autistic breakdown, it will make me better at the game.

I see you haven't been training a Moody Bitch Horse, then
I do, as I said I have almost every horse B+, but the second it hits normal I'm hitting recreation.
Every single run I do I start by training once to drain some energy, then hit recreation and either get the energy back and chill at good, or get up to great by kareaoke. Bad mood is a death sentence, and I can not wait for a random event to get it back to good+, I'm getting it up immediately.
Or maybe I'm dumb. Do people really train at normal or below ever? I get that it makes it so you don't have to spend a turn on recreation but... you can't rely on it, the events are random! Get it up immediately! I don't want to be training for 4 turns at normal mood hoping the event triggers.

edit: I need to get haru up, or do something sneaky with inspirations to get another dirt runner. Somehow air groove is my best by far, 9.3k nothing else hits 9k

I really love the effort to make every design cover up where their human ears would be, doubled eared horse women would just be weird.
Prior to the 21st century, kemonomimi had animal ears where the human ears are. It was the 21th Century for reasons, is when kemonomimi had to have animals ears where they would be on the animal and human ears.

Early in the run, it isn't always worth spending a turn to improve mood.

You can see that each level applies an additive flat 10% to training results and 2% to stats during races. When your training facilities are low level and your friendship training isn't yet active, one round of training at normal mood is worth about the same as 4 or 5 rounds worth of "Great" mood bonus. If I get an early mood down event, or I don't get any of the random events that can naturally improve mood early in the run (let's say first 3 or 4 months), then I'll spend a turn on recreation. It's also good to consider recreation energy gains; the "common" result improves mood by one level and recovers some energy while the karaoke result improves mood by two levels but recovers no energy.

I do still recommend Power Pros 2008 if you have a ps2 or just download an emulator. One thing is it is all single player, and save scumming is allowed, so it is almost preferable to use an emulator to use save states to quickly make an ultra strong guy instead of resetting on console. I didn’t play that way before, but after many runs I started resetting if I got injured at practice or if my gambling tickets failed (you can straight up gamble to raise a stat or learn a skill in that game)
WTF you didn't? MR4 is objectively the best one. Its story is pretty basic though, your girlfriend can talk to monsters and is a reincarnation of an ancient princess or some shit. Still it's very fun until you hit the last level and then you have to grind your ass off and I've still never actually beaten it because of that. If you emulate it at 2x speed it's a little better.
Sounds like a decent excuse to try both. Might have to consider it since I always keep my ps2 emulator ready to go. Wouldn't even stop my happy ass from racing horses in the meantime.
"I heard you like stat builders, so now you can get stats while you get stats."

As far as I've gathered the gist for Kitasan Black is that with the min/max pvp autism grindset some people have (especially asians lets be real), she allows you on average to max speed several turns earlier per career through her higher appearance rate in speed training + helping the gains for it. So you can do a few more races or extra stat dumps. Basically I think it's autists aiming for top ranks squeezing out an extra 150 stats per run or some such. I've seen her gold corner skill called the swinging maestro of accel skills with a few other decent skills but otherwise that mostly seems to be it. And you can get that skill with 1 copy anyway.

I've also seen a few arguments that part of why the banner itself is good to shoot at is because having several SR cards at max out performs most level 30/35 and even level 40 ssrs (including numerous upcoming cards for a long stretch of time) and this early on the pool is less diluted. So if you're going to get shafted by Kitasan, you're statistically likely to make some progress on a few SRs at least.
The legend as I know it is that you'll have a high level deck either way and you don't have to care about anything but rolling your favorite horses for a large chunk of time.
This autism is of course mitigated by getting a few cards and only rolling for horses in the first place. Doubly so if you're not killing yourself over pvp.

I specifically kept and maintained my old PS2 to play MR4 and generate monsters with discs on it. Damn I love that game. I think emulation has mastered the "disc swap monster gen" feature too though so if you have a bunch of roms you can gen monsters from them. My favorite Monster I even randomly genned was the big black evil rock dragon... from some kind of Jesus DVD at my friend's house. Oh how we laughed!

Anyways does Kitasan disappear from the pull roster once her event is up or does she join the regular pool? Because if she joins the regular pool I'll keep 10 pulling for her with free carats the whole way and just hope she shows up some time if she feels like it.

I think MR was just a series I lost track of and only realized it had more than the first two and the gameboy/psx card games ages later. I'm pretty sure emulator can disc swap as well so might consider hunting around a little to see if there's any specifics I would like. Does 4 require unlocking any types or is it a free for all? I know in MR 1 and 2 you had to reach certain ranks and/or do special tournaments for a few special monsters like Dragons etc.

I'm not actually sure if Kitasan goes general banner or not. Rate up is such a prevelant thing for general gacha and since it's hyped most people seem to skip over off banner convo entirely. Almost any convo I've seen about it just skips over to "Well the rerun is in like a year" or whatever. Worth noting that we do get items to uncap cards later on, albeit somewhat limited I'm sure. So realistically 1 or 2 copies can still get buffed up eventually in time. Not sure how that interacts with the sped up schedule.

Yeah I think it's the same in 4 but it's not too punishing because a lot of basic monsters can carry you the whole way. You unlock different areas to explore that you can find saucer stones in to unlock specials but likewise it's tied to your level.

I don't really play gacha so I don't know how banners work, at all. I completely bounced off of Blue Archive because that shit was just an erotic visual novel about lolis with very rare auto-playing game sections. Like if you don't want to lick your waifu's feet there's absolutely no value in it whatsoever. I assume the same is for other games of the type like Honky Rail or whatever. At least Infinity Nikki has dress-up segments, but it's objectively worse than the phone game because it has no content and so so so much fucking walking even despite the teleportation feature. I played AFK Arena a little bit until it crammed so much shit into it there wasn't a game left any more. Umamusume is the first gacha game I've seen that has actual gameplay and it's such a stark difference from what I've tried before it's not even funny.

Fire Emblem Heroes used to have gameplay before the power creep got bad enough that the game turned into a test of how quickly you could press the "autobattle" button.

I really like Simboli Rudolf. She is one of my favorites with Daiwa Scarlet and El Condor Pasa.

The info page for her current banner says "Support cards newly appearing in this banner will also appear in future Support Card Scout banners." I take that to mean that they're at least guaranteed to return for future limited time spotlights, but there's no mention of future general availability. I've heard talk of the next guaranteed appearance being part of a half-anniversary banner, but I need to check the source for this. For the moment, I'm basing my pulling decisions on the following video:

TL;DW - Kitasan Black drop rates for the current banner are estimated at 0.5 to 0.75%. This means you are likely to need between 400 (57.8% chance) and 600 (93.9% chance) pulls in order to Max Limit Break your Kitasan, factoring in both direct card drops and the pity system (one guaranteed copy can be claimed for every 200 failed pulls). Assuming a fresh account with access to discounted paid carat packs, this will cost anywhere from approximately $308 - $728 (USD).
