Imagine if you said you were passionate about cooking, yet you peacocked because Food Network had an event showcasing cooks from around the world and it did poorly in ratings. Just because people on that network laughed at you and don't take you seriously.
Imagine if you said you were passionate about baseball, yet you got a puffy chest because the ratings of baseball were down. All because you peaked in high school and were never good enough to be a pro.
Bad analogies sure but they're not that dissimilar to what Phil does when it comes to the FGC. Fuck, he does it with video games too. Microsoft's failures don't just mean Phil Spencer maybe gets fired (which Phil would probably jerk off to if he could get it up anymore), but it would mean bad news for the industry as a whole. What his narcissistic pea brain doesn't get is that EVO not being successful may mean fighting games go away. Extreme case sure, but why would you celebrate that, if you supposedly love the genre?

Why does Phil enjoy EVO dying? Feeling bitter towards the FGC is one thing, but that tournament is the sole opportunity he was given to have any success in his life. Phil just always, always has to be an insufferable asshole.

If someone demanded a 5 star review from me I'd have a hard time not giving 3 stars or less.
I'm sure most of that story was grossly exaggerated anyway. He probably hit the "I'm here button" a total of two times and mentioned the rating in passing rather than demanding. Like when twitch "yelled" at him to lower his bit rate.

The bulk of it was before gameplay, yet he's not quitting death stranding 2 and saying it brings him good contributions....
All the while playing death stranding like it's GTA running in his truck from stations to stations and then complaining that the gameplay isn't interesting.
He really should drop it, he's not engaged in the story or the gameplay and he's just rushing to says he "beat" the game.
(I don't remember which one of you pointed that out but his use of the word beat to talk about finishing a game tells alot about how he sees games)

It's never enough. We saw this with the $1600 tip recently. Phil just bumped his ridiculous goals total up to $1950 (13 goals in one stream). No shock there.
