You just don't understand, Khronos is a grown man who can contribute a few hundred bucks not to his employer Mald, but "the community" LOL. At least with someone working at a retail store like walmart and getting an employee discount to buy socks/food/whatever they're actually getting something out of it. Mald just coordinating taking cash from his employees is disgusting because even if he hands it back, now it's a mess of tax issues getting taxed on Mald's side being an employer, taxed on Khronos' end as income, taxed when it goes back to Mald as income again, and then if he isn't fraudulently paying it back taxed again on the employer side and once again taxed as income when it gets back to Khronos. So much for an 82% return when it gets taxed a half dozen times as it keeps changing hands and is likely brought closer to 50%.

I think the unfortunate reality for Jason and the ferrets is that he grew too quickly, and didn't foresee his downfall due to his own hubris. You can't just unload 60+ ferrets compassionately. Maybe he can find a handful of competent fosters, but if Mald goes broke, most of the weasels are getting euthanized.

I used to script on SecondLife back in the day and I know what these groups are from extended contact with them. To explain this I need to establish what a few SecondLife terms are.

It's clear Malding Fagottry ultimate goal is to recreate SL and be the sole admin/dictator. Since he doesn't have the chops to even try, he's paying someone to fork and host a Minecraft mod for him.

Sure but there's also some likely massive differences there. Donating money to KF is generally either to keep the site running(paying for infrastructure) or legal defense(because of retards on the internet). Donating money to Mald does neither of those things as Mald isn't paying to stream on twitch and doesn't have hordes of retards filing lawsuits and other dumb shit against him.

Paying Mald, especially for some hype train bullshit is purely to promote Mald and boost his viewership. Null isn't running a livestream tooting party horns every time a donation happens, nor does donating to him pump some stats somewhere to artificially boost his engagement to get the site or himself ranked higher anywhere. If the mods here were paid by Null as employees(no idea if they are, nor do I particularly care) them handing part of their paycheck back wouldn't go just directly into boosting Null's popularity.

At the same time, even if the mods here were paid by Null, and were throwing that money back at him to boost his popularity somehow so he can win awards, get collabs, boost views, get more subscribers and so on, doing so of their own volition is still different than coordinating with their boss to do it.

Simply put, if Mald weren't a greedy ferret fucking shithead, his response in the DM from Khronos about that should have been him stating that it's not Khronos's job to worry about it or at least discussing Mald using his own funds via Khronos to do it.
