Seems like he got around to the daily steam discussions purge two and a half hours earlier than yesterday. Missed out on a couple threads I was going to archive because of that. I'm taking it pretty slow since it's just steam discussions after all.

One comment did stand out to me, and I did make sure to catch it as soon as I saw it.

I hadn't noticed this earlier. At this moment, 37 'active threads' are shown while the sidebar lists 256 now 258 total threads. Inactive threads are mentioned on the last page of active threads and can only be found through discussions searches. I'm not sure how or when they get considered an inactive thread. It might be that a certain number of newer threads will push stuff at the end out into being inactive, and if so I have a hunch that deleted threads might still contribute to that. Who knows though, something like Elden Ring has about 800 active threads.

Also took a peek at some games I own myself - one of them has a similar total threads count to Heartbound along with unlocked active threads being 2/3 of the total and ranging from this month to fucking 2016.

Yeah, what he's doing shows. Most of the total thread count is probably the old unlisted stuff. I searched a couple of threads visible in this archive from January and they still existed unlocked but inactive, only appearing if searched for. The amount of active threads in the archive are more what one would expect to see, as well. I'd love to have been able to check page 15 to see how far back they go, too bad.

Like lets compare this to maybe other early access slop failures

maybe a guy gets in over his head, maybe hes not financially too successful, and then he had kids, and literally cannot spare time or money to finish it. THIS SUCKS, but you can almost empathize with his game failing, if you have kids, if the game didn't sell well anyway, and you are just trying to get by, it makes sense. If you are working a job 40 hours a week and trying to raise kids, dumping time to finish a game with no financial payoff is hard. It should be avoided, but you can understand the reasoning.

JASON however already has employees, already has huge success, has money, has plenty of resources. HE DEFINITELY has the ability to AT LEAST hire a capable coder for maybe a year, get the game ironed out and shipped. This is ABSOLUTELY pheasable to do.
