My favorite part of Nick's rant is that he started saying Sean doesn't know anything because he takes appointed criminal cases and was a prosecutor. But that actually means he goes to court all the time... I literally started taking appointed criminal cases to get more court experience, it's one of the best ways to do it.

I know that Sean does more court in a month than Nick did in his entire career because I do and I can tell Sean is busier than I am/doing more criminal stuff. (I've got like 5 contingent fee civil cases that I took on when things were very lean right after the covid days - they aren't disasters, but they're money pits that are moving slow and weighing me down on being able to do other stuff).

In a day? Why would the guy even take the case without enough money even for a hearing a week later? That suggests he was fronting services and Aaron had promised to pay but didn't. That would be somewhat odd practice.

Not extremely odd, since a lot of DV clients are short on cash, but this isn't a normal DV case. It's between two dudes for one thing and while there is gay shit involved, it's not really directly about that.

I think it's entirely possible Aaron wanted to pull something dodgy.

That or the money. 🤷 I'd just think the lawyer would have wanted a retainer sufficient for at least the first hearing, assuming that might be the only hearing. In any event, it's pretty abrupt and there's no substitution of counsel. That seems to indicate this isn't a switching lawyers thing and Aaron is likely to be representing himself at the hearing, which should go just swimmingly (for Nick).

While I hope he Mr. Muh-Goos himself into a win somehow, that's seeming unlikely.

Nick's stating that this is because Aaron lied about the HRO because, as we all know, Nick believes the first amendment is exclusively the right for pedophiles to sexually harass children and nothing else.

TBH at this point, if Aaron fucks this up because he waited too long to protect his daughter from pedophiles it's his own fault and he deserves to get vexatious litigation-ed into suicide by Nick.

Melton and Nick will 100% retaliate and go after Aaron's daughter even harder after this. Nick's already started mentioning her by name and claiming that she's fair game because Aaron's mentioned her on stream. He's made pedophilic sex jokes about kids before, I wouldn't be surprised if he joined in on the cupholder jokes.

If Aaron is really going in and repping himself during this trial he isn't just putting himself at risk, he's putting his daughter at risk too and that's an unforgivable sin.

I'm really starting to think this hearing is going to be a complete mess. I mean I wish Aaron the best, but yeah.
I guess, at least it'll be entertaining still. But that's always going to be the case.
I just hope no one here gets their hopes up, that would be silly.

I think if he fails, Nick and Melton are going to take that as approval for getting worse. Not just "yeah, you're okay, but calm down", no, "do more! MORE!"
