This piece of shit could've killed people.

So there was circlejerking at play during the JonTron shitstorm. I suppose that makes a lot of sense in hindsight.

I thought the level of influence they had with the industry was in the shitter? I know in the past it was a lot but who would ever listen to that den of cunts?

Other cunts? Anyway, I think that their influence is waving. With the closemindess and their repution of being a hive of sjw and banhammers, less and less people will come there.

They can still make alot noise,or at least enough to get whatever They want from a small developer with a publisher ready to virtue signaling in hope to gain SJW point:and guess What?It backfired spectacularly

Neogaf on its own isn't very influential anymore. However, it's still a catalyst for other digital AIDS outlets. Gaf has a 50-page thread whining about a popular gaming Youtuber saying something they dislike? Perfect for Kotaku, Polygon, Vice, etc. to run articles denouncing Youtube while quoting NeoGAF members for support. Video game publishers still respect some of those websites.

The forum's relationship with Kotaku is something. The Neogaf's Shadows series only briefly touches on the worst case of the crossover. For many years Kotaku's url would show up as asterisks on Neogaf. It was banned because the site was a sleazy video game tabloid that would run trash and stuff that was already on Neogaf. Years later, the site becomes unbanned, multiple writers openly have accounts and the views of both sites start to align. Neogaf is outraged Nintendo fired Alison Rapp. Kotaku is outraged Nintendo fired Alison Rapp. The reason why she got fired gets revealed and both act like they never knew who she was. Actually, that's not true. The Neogaf mods go out of their way to delete every post that says Alison was a prostitute. Within the last two years, I've noticed more and more Kotaku rumor reports that were basically just rewriting something that leaked on 4chan or Reddit. Neogaf naturally attributes them exclusively to Kotaku.

What happens if you mention John Walker Flynt on NeoGAF?

I just love the bubble they live in.

Even Something Awful at its worst has occasionally bowed to reality when no thinking person could deny it before, like when they rolled over on that pedophile Aatrek and, oddly for a forum that seems to shield those types, turned him into the "MODS KNEW" meme that the mods themselves didn't really try to suppress.

But NeoGAF was so willing to defend a guy who admitted to torturing medical patients simply for their ideology to the point they've try to Orwell it out of existence like it never happened and it's a subject none of them will ever answer to because it would be too damn embarrassing, especially after being caught doing a hideously shameful coverup.

I've yet to see someone do that. As @RockVolnutt said, some of them are trying to pretend that Wu isn't a tranny, which is obvious bait to lure people into outing themselves as a Gamergater/Republican/Transphobe. You're guaranteed to do that by "deadnaming" Wu because I don't think that's gotten any coverage from their approved news sources. Depending on how naive you play your discovery of Wu's troonery, you might survive the inevitable dogpile (Wow, did you just post that? Is this the hill you want to die on? I don't like Brianna, but this is just not okay. Not okay! I can't believe you're posting this. We've got another Gamergater here! x 1000). If you go full shitlord and link to Nazi news site Breitbart it's game over. This man will murder you digitally.

Neogaf's delusional owner responds to an indie game developer saying the site's negativity made him cry.
General commentary:

-Should probably be talking about your two whole day cry with your therapist and not Edge Magazine. Also sounds like it would be pretty cathartic in any case. Did you emerge from your cocoon of tears a brave new boy new ready to face your first actual challenges in life? I bet you did! You're quite welcome.

-Criticism or accusation on a video game message board about a creative work triggering a traumatic psychological event from the creative director does not constitute contradictory evidence against the criticism or accusation. In other words, NeoGAF's not Bad Monster Who Is Wrong because of this guy's tears. That's an appeal to pity, not a rebuttal to anything he read.

-NeoGAF is actively moderated and we don't very much tolerate personal attacks, hate speech, and unsubstantiated claims. What we don't police, however, is someone not liking a thing you like or you liking a thing someone else doesn't like. If you keep it civil, don't drag a thread down around your own ego (unless you're me, *wink*, *thread unlock*), and back up your positions, and you're not just being inflammatory for the sake of it, then things are probably operating as intended. If you're uncomfortable with your favorite game or favorite developer-turned-god being criticized, go have yourself a good cry and head elsewhere.

-Despite someone having a breakdown here and there, or someone making a public exit some other time, or whatever a blowhard on Twitter says, the industry and the press follow NeoGAF pretty closely, and most industry folks are totally chill about the site. A lot of indies have expressed love and appreciation for the organic exposure they've gotten here that helped bring their projects to the spotlight on their own merit and thank me that NeoGAF exists and remains an independent entity where that can actually happen, and at the other end of the spectrum lots of AAA studios have taken notes on issues highlighted here and acknowledged and appreciated feedback, even very harsh feedback.

Most creatives figure out how to cope with criticism of their work and adjust accordingly. Some enjoy engaging directly on social platforms and can ignore any random trolls that might drive by, some watch from the sidelines to varying degrees, some ignore what the internet has to say entirely.

Someone compulsively chose to read the accumulated criticism of their thing in one go and cried afterwards. After serious and lengthy deliberation I have decided...not to shut down NeoGAF in response to this news. Thanks!

This is a bannable post. This, on the other hand, is absolutely fine. So is Amir0x's continued insanity.
