Oda is good at least making random characters contribute in some way down the road even if they don't pop up after the arc they were in is over. Not expecting Foxy or any other character to stop Imu or anything but he will at least be doing something.

At a certain point, I think One Piece will be like Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure in that all the structure and core points is so unreal and insane that a casual will just nope out. Fortunately, Netflix isn’t at that point yet.

doffys crew was such a mix of actual tragic characters and actual evil people when you think about it. like you have guys like diamante who have no problem just killing whoever then you get people like law and corazon and baby 5 and senior pink who all just seem to have gotten stuck with doffy for various reasons. its like doflamingo just stopped picking up hardend criminals at some point and decided to start taking in kids who just kinda hung out with everyone for the hell of it. or in the case of baby 5 were just fucked in the head from the start.

With things like this, I honestly expected Oda to edge us even harder; if next week's chapter is God Valley, or at least build up (recruiting Linlin and Kaido) to it, I'm surprised it wasn't a "BREAK (till) NEXT YEAR" ordeal.

I expect that when Blackbeard sneaks and roflstomps Shanks for good, though.
