Mega Rad Gun Thread

SigSissies, is the Ghost of Gaston going to rise from the grave and fuck us to death with his Big Black Glock in a three way tag team match with the DOD and DOJ? I thought it ended today?????

In all seriousness though RIP, it finally happened. If I were Ron Cohen I would be on a Private Jet to Tel Aviv right now.

Is there anything better than taking a gun specifically designed to conceal carry, often in a front pocket, and putting a bunch of shit on it that defeats that one singular purpose?

Not everyone carries shitty pocket guns. Some of us carry full sized guns with lights and optics.
First rule of a gunfight.
Have a gun.
Second rule.
Make sure it's loaded.
There are no other rules.

Fuck, it had to be Global Strike. If it was at any other command, I'd be celebrating because they'd probably scrap the piece of shit M18. Global Strike is widely hated with the highest suicide rates in the Air Force for a reason though. Leadership always sucks ass. They'll pull a Sig and blame the TSgt rather than the piece of shit he was carrying. Probably implement a local policy that you're not allowed to remove the gun while on shift and become stricter on someone manning the clearing barrel during turn in, stupid little things like that to make it look like it was just a freak accident. SecFo already gets the shitty end of the stick on a daily basis, especially the guys working PRP/nuclear weapons. I'll continue to hold out some hope that we can all stop pretending Sig is a quality brand, realize the M18 isn't anywhere close to worthy of being a service weapon, and that Cohen gets fucked on for all the senseless injuries, and now deaths, their shit product has caused.

People will debate your second rule.

On the first rule, I’m concerned with having a performance oriented firearm that I shoot well and train with frequently. My use case disqualifies pocket rockets.

It's curious that the M18 is more dangerous to its owner than it is to anyone else. I do have to wonder why one would place their gun on a table with the barrel aimed at their chest.

His point was that a pocket gun is designed for your pocket and isn't a full sized gun specifically because a full sized gun doesn't fit comfortably and isn't as easily concealable in your front pocket as per his example. Although personally I think an optic is a fair trade, only gain an extra inch and a quarter or so in vertical height but also get the massive benefits of an optic. Still a pretty damn small package.

I wouldn’t consider a Shield a pocket sized gun even without an optic.

25 ACP or smaller are "pocket guns" imho. Maybe if its small enough, a .32 smaller than a PPK.
A "pocket gun" in anything larger (I'm looking at you, LCP) are usually hard to shoot pieces of shit with spotty reliability. At least a .25 doesn't punish you for shooting it (if you have to).

Airweight revolvers suck dick too, but at least you get a real round for that form factor, so it kinda evens out.

I know it's not affected by the issue, but I still regret my P365 purchase. While the modularity is a cool part of it, I've honestly just preferred using my glock 26, even if it's a bigger gun for cc.
