I’ve been laughing at Dobson on and off for a good decade and a half and still got a few new little details here and there, I’d say it’s worth a listen if you’ve got a drive or monotonous task coming up.

Finished GFM's video and as someone who has watched many of his documentary style videos, it's actually shocking how as the video goes on he gets more and more mocking, openly laughs and derides him and even does a whiny voice every time he impersonates him.

Trust me, he never does this. He always makes his content seem fairly impartial, almost to an annoying degree sometimes, which makes it all the more astounding (and entertaining) that Dobson is just so detestable that he can't even feign impartiality.

He even brings this up at the end where he says that normally he tries to end on a hopeful note but Dobson just pisses him off so much that he genuinely doesn't want to try. Amazing, son of Dob.

That's the only theory regarding Dobbo that makes sense. If he was socking for all these years he would've been found out many times over already, he's not really known for his self-control or subtlety plus he has very keen and persistent alogs on virtually any social media platform.

The funniest thing to me is that even though Dobson has been gone for years people still bring him up to laugh at. There have been plenty of old lolcows that have disappeared from the internet that have been forgotten, but not our Dobson.

He's almost as infamous as Chris regarding his lolcowdom, i imagine he was the first real lolcow for many people. I heard of him and clowned on him many years before i heard of KF or even the term "lolcow", mostly on /v/. I saved this pic originally around 2013/2014 i think:

He comes from a wealthy background, as far as I can tell. I don't believe the theory that it was his brother needing a security clearance, Dobson being a lolcow doesn't affect that. His family more than likely agreed to support him for an extended period of time, provided he get off the internet for good.

Yeah this theory is most correct. I guess part of me thinks it was forced on him due to obvious issues with depression? Maybe he tried to kill himself and it caused his parents who were housing him to finally put their foot down. Either way him not being allowed to continue his Twitter addiction and being forced to "grow up" is the best outcome a lolcow like Dobson can have.

Out of most lolcows he's one of the more likely to get actual mental health and become a productive member of society. I was surprised by how decent his work ethic was comics wise when Mars talked about it in his video. Sounds like given the correct working environment Dobson could be a decent employee. Part of me hopes he finally found healthy coping mechanisms to deal with obvious anxiety.

Nah this dude is insufferable and is really fucking creepy to boot. He followed every woman around on social media like a lost puppy and his obsession with lesbians is one of the weirdest things I've ever seen. It's sad because it looks like from his early art that he has genuine talent. It's only wasted by his lack of motivation and willingness to blame his problems on other people.

I didn't know much about Dobson outside of memes before watching this. He's lucky he was able to get off the internet before he spiraled even further into degeneracy.

It goes without saying since it gets brought up all the time, but Dobson doesn't want to be an artist because he loves the craft, he wants to be an artist because he thought he could get an easy job to coast on and that the title warrants respect and authority in the creative world.

A lot of modern artists mainly the social media types are like this. I know this was in 2016 but going back through this thread is crazy how as things change other things stay the same. They don't actually respect being an artist and most of them are very lazy when you even slightly tell them what to do. I think that is also why a suspicious amount of these leftist types are artists because they want to do something easy but get reminded that in order to truly break in being a successful artist like for comics, movies, T.V, etc you actually have to put some effort and a lot of work in.

That's probably from the benefit of him disappearing five years ago. When he was active, he was annoying, contradictory, overly opinionated, and ready to exact a vengeance on everyone whoever slighted him. And that included people who didn't compliment his art in the right way. He blamed everyone else for his failings, refused to improve his artwork as a fuck you to everyone whoever criticized him, and whined and moaned that Disney didn't come along, think his work was the greatest ever, and give him a job where he sat on his ass and told people what to do for millions of dollars.

He wasn't as bad as some out there, but he was definitely a lolcow.

Yeah his obvious sexualizarion of women that he would poorly deny by playing feminist was his most irritating trait towards the end. The slide from almost-professional artist to desperate failed social media grifter was hard.

His demise is the definition of "getting in your own way." Had the guy simply learned to shut the fuck up and stop whining all the time, he would probably have been okay. Even the inflation stuff isn't that bad considering how many artists now draw way more deranged shit, but he was such an insufferable baby that he kneecapped himself. Also, I didn't know until watching the most recent documentary posted here that he shit on his alma mater. That absolutely damaged his career in ways no one can publicly see. Many animators and artists who teach at these art schools have industry connections and they talk. A lot. Cartoonists and animators gossip like high schoolers and trashing your connections like that will cause opportunities to dry up.

The fact that Dobson never networked mangled his career. Genndy Tartakovsky was not a fantastic artist or even an outstanding animator at first, but he made friends who looked out for him and helped him out. Dobson probably thought he could make it on his own and show everyone how great he is.

Also his lesbian shit was creepy, but artists putting their fetish into shit is nothing new. The creator of Mao Mao is a vore fetishist and you can tell if you watch the show.
