For those of you wondering why the Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle is a limited-time offering it appears that today's Pokémon Presents had an answer to that...

...in the form of a new $499 USD Switch 2 bundle releasing on October 16th that includes a digital copy of Pokémon Legends: Z-A. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if the way Nintendo starts to move Switch 2 systems is by bundling it with the company's game-du-jour, advertising it as being a limited-time deal, and then introduces a new bundle when the previous bundle's stock starts to run out.

Inasmuch as Nintendo has behaved in truly scummy behavior, they've still got a long ways to go before they're at the Ubisoft, EA, and ActiBlizz circle of hell.

Also, from this interview, it seems like the new DK was inspired by the movie's success rather than any sort of attempt to distance themselves from the Rare design (makes sense given all the Rare-era references/cameos they added). I'd still prefer if they changed him to be a bit closer to the Rare design like in those Xitter edits, but at least the game seems good.

The movie was mentioned once and only once in the link you posted and was given equal weight to Mario Kart World in it as an "updated DK design." It also released two years ago, it didn't influence shit in terms of DKs design. If anything it might have influenced the movie's designs, as Nintendo had veto power over them.

As good as it is, I'm not really an fan of the open world gameplay.

It's simultaneously packed with shit but also has nothing meaningful to do, kinda like BotW. It even has "shrine" equivalents, which I think actually fit DKB better.

A big part of the problem is enemies barely matter and there's a much bigger emphasis on exploration than platforming, whereas Odyssey balanced that better. They both have the same problem of collectables feeling meaningless due to oversaturation, I hope that problem goes away in the next Mario game.

Putting that aside, are the aesthetics and such not as good as Country’s in your eyes?

Throwing my 2 cents in: I don't see how it could be. Eventually putting DK & Pauline's redesigns aside, the best music is still from the Rareware games and none of the new characters hold a candle to the old ones. I hoped DKB's enemies would be an improvement over Retro's, but they might be even worse.

Then there's the environments. I'm in the area with the living crystal people, and it's completely uninteresting with bad music. These areas are hit and miss so far. I miss when the DK world was somewhat more grounded, like in Rare's games (especially DKC1). I'll give the game credit, it's addictive and fun regardless of its plethora of imperfections and issues. The core of the game is really good, a sequel could help iron the kinks out if they don't go full retard and do a TotK style follow-up.

One more complaint, this is very subjective, but I do not like the theme of the game revolving so heavily around music. Seems kinda random.

You can also add Nexon to the video game circle of hell, since THEY were THE ones that kicked off Pay-2-Win with MapleStory, and the cunny game Blue Archive is making them Billions too. Nexon being a Korean company alone also makes them worse than those 3.

I'll have to play it myself, but based on everything I've seen, Bananza has more than enough things to do that actually progress the game. I guess I do like the more exploration-based design, which unlike in DKC3, here is combined with fast-paced action and the like.

I do agree that the designs by Rare were much more grounded and they had more memorable music though. Heck, I think some of the best songs in Bananza are the remixes of the ones seen in the DKC games. But the music here is still good, and it being themed around music I think has more to do with it reflecting the character of Pauline.

Heck, the theme of the game honestly sounds like something out of a Disney film (in a good way).

The first few levels before it, like most other new Star Fox games decided to not be a Star Fox game anymore. But Zero was definitely closer than most. I didn't even hate the controls.

Well it's not the safest thing in the world, no. It's called "exhaust" for a reason. Hot exhaust air from computers and other electronics isn't necessarily "bad," but you're huffing off-gassed odors from assorted metals, plastics, ceramics, silicons and other chemicals produced and assembled by the lowest bidder. There's a reason greybeards call it "letting the magic smoke out" when a microchip fries because it's a very distinctive odor -- a much stronger variant of what comes out of brand new electronics and their exhausts when they first power on.

You know what human lungs are built to inhale? "Air." Plain ol' regular air. If you can smell something as you inhale, you're inhaling whatever you're smelling, and it's not air. Your lungs aren't meant to process "not air." Hopefully everything "not air" you put in them comes back out when you exhale. Fun fact: it doesn't. It gets absorbed into your body anyway (almost never good), or settles semi-permanently until you cough it up next week. Hopefully it doesn't do anything bad to you while it's in there.

It has always made me laugh whenever any kind of smoker (nicotine, marijuana, etc.) has looked at me and said with a straight face that it's perfectly safe and then started coughing. That cough isn't a "sign of toughness." It's your lungs doing what they're built to do -- forcefully evict poisons they know they can't process, before it fucking kills you.

Fun fact: that lovely "new car" smell? That's essentially every nasty, potentially carcinogenic chemical off-gassing out of every single thing in the cabin, all concentrated into a confined space, and we all love it so much we do everything we can to preserve it as long as possible after we buy a new car instead of venting it thoroughly. Probably not very good for us either.
