I was a little young for that election, but the no new taxes thing didn't help, but Perot syphoned enough away from Republicans that it killed Bush. The thing is, Trump said he'd look into the Epstein stuff during the campaign and that is vastly different to most people than taxes. Taxes directly effect people, Epstein's stuff does not.
