You must use approved containers at the gas station. No glass certainly. Now, it doesn't have to be the new approved containers it could be old jerry cans or anything else. But all you can buy today that was approved was that type of cans.

Also, plastic bags are not allowed to transport gasoline.

This is why I think some people, libs and conservatives, look for something they can get mad about. Even if their anger about the issue is misplaced over a subject that really has no bearing with reality. Their anger is all sound and fury, signifying nothing (important). - Gas stations are required by regulation and the licences to only allow fuel to be dispensed into EPA approved containers.
- Containers used to transport flammable materials on public roads are required to meet DOT standards.
- Your homeowner's insurance requires flammable materials to be stored in approved containers.

On your private, uninsured land, you can use whatever container you want.
