Resetera legit do not understand comedy or parody and it shows. People in that topic are actually citing Team America: World Police as proof that they are pro-America and pro-imperialist, and its making me want to stop reading the site for a while lmao. yes, there are two main threads, one where steam had to take down a couple of games and they were very divided between "good, fuck those games" and "hey maybe this is a slippery slope

and then when itch took down all their tranny gooner porn they decided unanimously that it was now bad

They simply have no clue what it means. You can see many of them advocate for the United States to impose degrowth on the rest of the world or outlaw global fossil fuel usage. Nepenthe is one of the ringleaders of this degrowth stuff and a bunch of them parrot her saying shit like that. Then she turns around and demands people invest in the Global South not realizing these two things are inherently opposed. Even greater absolutely none of them realize that global degrowth would mean the death of billions worldwide and they aren't going to be white Westerners.

They also think degrowth is some kind of new innovative progressive position not realizing it's been a throughline of reactionary conservative (aka "progressive") thought since the 18th Century starting with at least Rousseau's fantasizing. Like most of this thinking, as seen also in fascist/Marxist/socialist/etc. works, it's based around belief of a primitive utopia that never existed. So you get loser shut-ins like Nepenthe waxing lyrical about the easy life of just sitting around all day sketching Overwatch characters. These faggots think they labor too much now in their retail and customer service (no proletarian btw) jobs? They should see what subsistence poverty is like. It still exists in our world and rather than want those people lifted out of it to enjoy living standards that move closer to ours they want them dead and all of us worse off.

All because they hate the result of their own choices and want to take it out on everyone else. (Okay, so really they're just incredibly ignorant and flat out stupid but this doesn't stop their hubris of thinking they know how everyone should be forced to live. It's called tolerance and basic human decency, chud.)

Consider for a second that this is the forum that bans games like CP2077 and Harry Potter and wants those games to get delisted.
Consider for a second that this is the forum that has 3 full threads of women (and their synthetic alternatives) whinging about "gooners" and porn and want it all burned.

They celebrate the debanking actions when it suits them and now they lament the vicious mocking they get from X and 4chan about it.

Resetera is fun because they say the quiet part out loud.

In this case, they hope people signing up as candidates in bad faith (lol) to confuse and frustrate people will influence the election.

Weaponizing the process for political gain. Very progressive and democratic.
