Largely bullshit, but it is important to know your gun in case of failure. If your relying on a red dot, either have backup sights or carry extra batteries in a compartment. The biggest factor of marksmanship is to train and know your limits. If your able to put three rounds into a 1 MOA circle at 50 yards standing, then realistically that's all you need. Everything else is just understanding what your limits are, and knowing potential points of failure.I heard that if you’re a first time gun owner you shouldn’t get mods like red dot sights and should just shoot with iron sights so you don’t become dependent, Is this bullshit
