Doesn't this guy live in abject filth and neglect his basic hygiene and health?

I guess that doesn't make him immune from having a good take every now and then but why is he supposedly worth listening to?

Payment processors are even filthier and a hundred times more disgusting than his room. And they have control over how people make money. That’s why.

Yes, but people listen because he's a multi-millionaire, the biggest react content creator you can find, and has helped start at least a couple of businesses. People enjoy watching him. I haven't for a few years, but it doesn't change the facts.

I'm sure this topic has been explored to death, but is twitch tech nepotism daycare?

Obviously the poster boys for rich children fostered there are Hasan and Maldy, but dougdoug was a former Blizzard employee, Ludwig worked for Apple. Critical role has ties too Blizzard qa and vc (though more Hollywood geek and sundry plant start things).
Then the only other twitch streamers I see are Arab, black or caseyoh, so if anyone else so if anyone else knows nepo babies to support my schizophrenia please list them with parentheticals around them.

Ludwig's nepobaby start into online modern media came from his cousin being one of the hosts at Donut Media(Jeremiah I think? so he had a bunch of connections and played the networking game very well, notice how damn near everything he does outside of sitting in front of a camera is just him convincing other streamers to hang out with him for the big parties and road trips and shit?), a car youtube channel. Ludwig worked for Apple as tech support(and was fired), that's not a connection worth a shit.

Dougdoug worked for EA, not Blizzard. He got involved with setting up esports shit with ESL for Hearthstone after he left EA where he was only there for 2 years and wasn't in a management position. The esports tie in makes more sense for connections than EA.

The simple reality is that EA, Blizzard, and Apple have gone through thousands and thousands of employees over the years. Hasan got in because his family is rich, and convinced his uncle Cenk to give him some bullshit segments acting like a retarded fratbro. Mald never had to do shit in his life due to apparently his mother's side being rich, and of course his father's reputation getting him a gig at blizzard to be a nepobaby there, allowing him to do absurd shit like stream 12 hours a day at hours that make no sense for the English speaking parts of the globe(while not letting their son become a homeless retard due to not actually having a job). The nepo baby trust fund kid shit comes into play on the back-end of things, being able to sit and do nothing all fucking day on a consistent basis in front of a camera to get an audience and of course audiences sitting at home bored in 2020 due to Covid helped this along.

Caseoh is the only decent Twitch streamer and he gets past the nepo/PoC filter because otherwise he'd eat Twitch

Pretty difficult video to follow a satire sketch comedy if you don't know all the details of the drama already, but I compliment him on making an actual high effort, semi-experimental youtube video.

p1138 is right in what he said. The luxury to sit around all day on a consistent schedule is a huge up for a Twitch streamer, as is having connections to get your name out. Many streamers have blown up from being plugged into a larger content creators content.

However, what wasn't mentioned, is its very difficult to force viewers to love you. Unless you are very skilled at what you do, or funny, the audience has to love you (and even then they won't shower you with cash like they do with their beloved steamer.)

Perhaps you're only considering the top .01% of streamers, but many twitch grifters with 100-3000 viewers are making over 100k USD a year, with a good chunk of them (especially in the 1000s view range) pushing much higher. Most streamers making a decent living off twitch are not particularly skilled or funny. What they do is slowly accrue pseudo-friends and essential MC their lives from their bedroom. Those with the most charm have a revolving door for whales who come in and out of their stream over the years, and make a killing off their feelings.

Twitch and social media connections can promote you and send views your way, but they cannot force the average millennial soyfaggot to give you money. You should be schitzing out about the fact that people like Maldavius Fagtree are extremely beloved, not the privilege that helped them get exposure.

I know Jersh probably thinks Asmongold is an ugly faggot but they are basically politically eye-to-eye. Both are very articulate as well. Asmongold is also yuuuuuuuuuuge, he's the #1 twitch streamer and gets 50k-100k concurrent viewers on any given day. He's like 9th or something on views per month on youtube. #1 in commentary/politics videos. He also likes no bullshit interviewees and will probably only keep Jersh on to tell his story for like 20 minutes, as opposed to his interview today with Kurp who had his cohost draw dicks for ~30 minutes in between talking to Jersh. His audience likes that type of shit too, especially if they've been following his last week or so of videos with the visa/mastercard bullshit and child protection safety act in the UK or whatever.

Josh mentioned on a recent MATI that he was particularly interested in talking to Asmongold about it. I think Josh has forgotten that asmongold was literally a tax collector before becoming a streamer, but I don't fault him for wanting to tap into the unwashed horde that is his audience.
