Cal is a top-ranked university in business, science and engineering fields despite harboring the most retarded humanities department in the country. Mizzou is a decent state school that had a good football team. You're comparing apples and oranges.

Trust me, most of the students at Cal look at all this nonsense as a necessary evil while they keep their heads down and focus on their studies.

This doesn't surprise me in the least. Remember the rumors floating around after the riots in Berkeley because Milo showed up? The mayor supposedly told cops to stand down and let the riots cause at least 100k in damages. All due to his political beliefs, Berkeley suffered both financial losses and a loss of respect. And now we have a similar situation, with cops being forced to stand down and watch as two groups clash in the street because the mayor sides with one of the two.

So we basically have a mayor who's willing to let people destroy property and intentionally harm others because he shares the same political beliefs as those people. Not only that but he's holding the police down just so his side can have their way.

This is so very wrong. Elected officials, especially the mayor, have to uphold the law regardless of political beliefs. And the majority of these people are breaking the law. All he's doing is legitimizing violence as a means of political discourse. If it's okay for the left to be doing it, why can't the right? It's setting a dangerous precedent and I highly doubt he realizes it.

In the UK "berk" is short for "Berkshire hunt", rhyming slang for "cunt". It's quite an appropriate name for the institution.

Hmmmmm. If true, this is genuinely appalling because police officers are supposed to keep the peace.

I am not convinced it is true though. Has anyone corroborated it?
