Look, I actually agree with this for a 12 year old, at least at specific points in NYC history. But I think this points to Becky's next arc: "free range, unschooling" parent, aka sitting on the couch while Hannah does whatever and Becky will say that it's about encouraging her freedom and that "women get accused of neglect for letting children be curious and explore their surroundings."
I thought initially when she had Hannah she'd be the other way, drastically overprotective, but it doesn't look like it's going to pan out that way because it's a lot of work on her part.
Becky talks about villages looking out for the safety of all. Can anyone remember a time when Becky has mentioned doing a single, solitary thing for any human being outside her immediate household? This person could not be less of a "villager" if she tried.
