First off, I doubt many doctors gatekeep these people from transitioning because I can only imagine these people throwing fits and filing lawsuits if the doctor dares to deny their "healthcare". Secondly, once again with this whole "I'm outside the gender binary. Therefore, people don't understand me". Again, these people make it seem like they have these gendered souls inside of them and nobody can understand them when they themselves have made the whole thing more confusing. If transitioning was all about wanting to be the opposite sex then I can at least understand it, (not that I would support it since sex changes are impossible) but these people insist that they don't want a full on sex change since "sex ≠ gender". They only want to change secondary sex characteristics because some how those traits define what being a man or a woman is and not the prime sex characteristics.

I found her talking about being asked "Why cant you just be a masculine girl?" interesting. Transitioning is treated as both something you rush into and do not question at all. I shared a tumblr post I saw the other day on the Trannies L thread that was basically saying, young MTFs, do not wait to do DIY HRT. You're not allowed to question it at all, because simple questioning breaks the hugbox. The question isn't just a question, it's a statement to them of "you can't be trans", they read it as hostile and don't actually answer the question. Even with their own logic, they could easily answer it: having genital dysphoria, discomfort with legal title, idk. But they're coded to not even think about the question, any question to their transition is read as bigotry.

What gets me about the "Why can't you just be a masculine girl" is the way they respond to this question "If these traits define what being a man is, does that mean that masculine women are men?" the response is usually no and when you then ask them "So how does having these masculine traits make you a man then?" the response is always "I get gender euphoria when I present more masculine because it matches my gender identity". You pretty much get into this circular argument where masculine traits defines what being a man is for them but atst it doesn't when a woman who shares these traits still sees herself as a woman. Again, when did this whole "Its how the person sees themselves and their inner identity is what makes someone a man, woman, or neither"?

I knew someone who insisted that despite what the game said, Naoto was still a trans story but because the game was made in 2008 in Japan, it was too afraid to tackle that issue head-on. And it also apparently did a disservice to teh TRUE TRWANS STORIES because it's brushing aside her gender issues or some shit. They also insisted that, sure, it's fine to read Naoto as not trans, but o m g lmfao guys why do people get so angry when they insist that she's not trans????? like wow, YOU guys are the ones obsessed with gender, not me!!!!

I love that their argument relies on them to ignore the story's culture and context to instead crowbar in their own interpretation, based on their own culture and context. Also, if we were supposed to take away that Naoto was trans, shouldn't Naoto at least have chosen to stay cross dressing? Instead she is shown in the epilogue to very much be leaning into the fact that she's actually a woman, and accepting of her sex.

I wonder if there's a Persona 4 character who's arc is about learning to live with themself instead of changing themself to fit in with unreasonable expectations of others. It would be really weird to ignore that character's epiphany and instead put them in a box based on the viewers life while ignoring the characters wants, desires, etc.

But who would do that?

I love when people out themselves like this. What this image describes is either autistic-depressive alexithymia or schizo(phrenic/affective/typical) emotional dulling / flat affect / anhedonia. You are not trans, you do not have 'emotional dysphoria', you are autistic or some form of schizo.

The idea that somehow this is a trans related problem is more fucking malebrained never interacted with a woman before bullshit. Women can also be autistic and alexithmic or a flat affected schizophrenic. The idea that somehow women are extremely more emotional than men is just more retarded 'only knowledge of women is from overhearing shit or a book', men are still emotional, men still have emotions, you can express them, fuck what society says little autist, go be a man and stop repressing your emotions. Women are normally more emotionally in touch than men, obviously periods are a bit of an exception, but that doesn't mean that women can somehow feel emotions you have never felt. Even if they could surely you would be already able to feel them? If you were a woman in a man's body why would becoming closer to a woman change your emotions? You should already have the emotions and emotional processing of a woman because you are one, right?

Yeah, stuff like this has really helped contribute to me being skeptical towards transness these days. Just earlier I was on the fence about sharing a comic here where someone describes her struggle to transition into a man since they’d always been dangerous creeps to her. She went through a VCUG at 18 months old and had creeps wishing she was older at 10. I really think transitioning is the last thing you need in that sort of situation.
I’ll just share the intro slide for it for now. That alone is pretty sickening, especially with context.

I hate to admit that I also tend to feel this now and then. That's the huge point of these sob stories. They want you to feel bad for them. They want to victimize themselves because they want us to feel bad that they're not living out their gender fantasies to force the entire world into accepting. Not everyone's like this, I get it. But it doesn't take long to think closely and go, "Am I being emotionally blackmailed to care about a guy going on titty skittles or a woman wanting to get her tits chopped off and be called 'Jim'?".

I dunno what you guys are talking about. This sort of comic always makes me hate trannydom even more. These people have done zero self-reflection and so have no concept of what makes them happy or how their own emotions work, but they want to make it *your* problem. Maybe they are mentally ill, but they have done zero work towards actually managing their illness; just pop the pills made by someone else and demand all society cater to your boo-boos. Shit like that just pisses me off.

I want to say Splatoon was (and kinda is) the big thing on Tumblr around the time a lot of these people were still growing up as teens and sub-30s adults.

Besides the fact that one of our local posters is very involved in that particular fandom circle, hence why so much fanart shows up; it's the combination of bright colors and a cartoonish aesthetic, lorefagging, the fact that the devs decided to "ditch" the sexual dimorphism found in Inklings and Octolings (not really, they just changed the genders to "styles" and made hairstyles universal in Splatoon 3) and the series' main cast of characters being primarily female. It's the bread and butter of most western fan"artists", if you think about it.

Interestingly enough, Kultur (which I believe is a Japanese news site?) recently released some statistics based on a survey they did to 180K Japanese people in regards to videogames. Contrary to popular belief, Splatoon's playerbase is 65% male and, on average, of 27 years of age; which explains why the majority of the cast would be female, why the idol-based focused is so overt, and why most of the game's actual playerbase likely grew up alongside it.​
