Nintendo Switch 2 - For the Soytendo consoomers to speculate about the successor to the Switch, recently announced for 2025.

The only reason this is in the direct is because of the camera feature.

Real talk, how long do you think it’ll be before that camera gets Nintendo into hot water? Between this and Mario Party, I am just waiting for the inevitable pedo incident to take place and kill that peripheral. One dude showing up naked to the Mario Party is all it takes to shit can that entire feature.
The Nintendo of not that long ago probably wouldn't have ever released the camera in the first place due to uncouth behavior potentially happening.

The 3DS once had an app called Swapnote, where you could communicate with any other 3DS user via little notes with drawings and pictures. All you needed was their friend code. Then pedos in Japan did exactly what you think they did, and once that got to news that feature was instantly removed from Swapnote.

Modern Nintendo I think is more interested in selling extras for moolah than going scorched earth over the 1 or 2 inevitable incidents of nonces being nonces. Unless it becomes some kind of Omegle situation it'll just be one of those things that if it happens, he gets instantly found and gets the woodchipper, then life goes on. The real answer is that everyone forgets the camera really exists two years after launch the same way HD Rumble stopped really being a thing talked about from the Switch 1.

I guess we’ll agree to disagree on that one.
Fair enough.

Especially since S2 has less exclusives 2 months later than Wii U did at launch. Guess that "U" in the name really did confuse a lot of customers.

I assume we are going to get a 1st party direct in August because this just ain't it. I feel they don't want to announce delays because they don't want to invoke Wii U vibes.

Calling it;
Elden Ring delayed
Duskbloods delayed
Metroid Prime 4 delayed
Pokémon Colosseum + XD VC delayed
No Remaster of 2 + 3 announced
Pokémon ZA to release in an awful state, making S/V look complete in comparison
FF7 Remake and Rebirth to be in dev hell too.

I think this is linked to Nintendo being cagey on the dev kits, and there being coding issues. I also think this is why MK World was released in such an incomplete state, because after playing it, it felt very rushed.

The Duskbloods was announced for 2026, it probably won’t be delayed. Still over a year away.

Pokemon Colosseum and XD were never given a date, so they can’t delayed.

I agree that Metroid Prime 4 will be delayed. Probably Kirby Air Riders as well, since we have seen ZERO gameplay footage.

So still no Prime 4? At what point do I have a right to be worried? 8+ years in development hell and Nintendo is still playing hazel with it. This comes in lock step with zero announcements about Prime 2 + 3 Rereleases. Think on this, after a hiatus spanning 18+ years, the only game from the Prime series new audiences have easy access to, is Prime 1. Before the 4th game in a former Trilogy is released, newcomers can only play the 1st chapter of it...

That's not even mentioning Metroid Prime Hunters - you know the game that the primary antagonist of Prime 4 debuted in. Lol what the fuck. And we know from the trailers that the abortion no one played called Federation Force is also being referenced in Prime 4... so that's another game needed for context that you can't play on Switch.

To summarize, none of the games that actually lead into Prime 4 are playable on goytendo's current shitstems, good job nips.
Nintendo should just HD port all of the old Wii Metroid Prime games to the Switch2, no one would notice the 2006 Wii graphic anyway. But i guess that is to much work for their baby game makers.

They said the Pokémon VC would be "soon," but here we are 6 months later. FromSoftware always releases early in the financial quarter, so March-April, but they have shown nothing.

Be patience, the baby game makers are still struggling to convert the 480i cartoon graphics to 1080p, and update the online features from 2005 to 2010 standards.

As of June 30th, the switch 2 has outsold the Steam Deck (~5.5 million.)

Nintendo made a game that teaches the kids how to set fires. What could possibly go wrong?

The floating heads with the camera just ain't right.
This is some straight up bizarre dystopic shit.

Why wouldn't you have your friends over for an actual fire?
I don't think it's a repeat of the Wii U, but to be fair, that's only outselling Wii U 2-1 in its first month or so. If lifetime sales only doubled Wii U, the Switch 2 would still be an unmitigated disaster.

Now again, to be clear, I don't think sales are going to slow down that much. I still don't think it's going to sell as well as the first Switch, though. I'm still betting it's a success, but sub 100-million in sales.

Most casual gamers probably don't even know what a steam deck is, let alone other PC handhelds, anything Nintendo puts out would outsell the steam deck on brand recognition alone
(Which is a shame, the steam deck is a significantly better product than the switch 2)
