We have never censored anything, anywhere, what are you talking about chud, we never bullied the japanese to fuck with their porn websites, we also did not bully steam to accept our demands, or demanded itch.io to remove NSFW and horror games, you are being a disinformation agent
So...what part of Josh selling T-shirts and hoodies is unlawful???

Keep harassing the wagies at call centers and complaining on X.com, it seems to be working
1754064918187.webp
maybe email this faggot too

Complain loudly enough, often enough and annoyingly enough and no matter the power of who you're complaining to they will address it.
that... didn't work in tianamen square...
thankfully the US doesn't have that kind of people in power but they never stop trying though, you guys have 2026 and 2028 to keep these fucks away from positions of power.

It's worth bearing in mind that even if a payment network isn't literally specifically forbidding specific transactions, their policies combined with their centralized control over critical infrastructure inevitably leads to a chilling effect that we're seeing. Like, even if all they're doing is jacking up rates for "high risk" situations because they feel like they need to cover their asses for the feds, that still IN EFFECT makes merchants drop products and businesses, and it effectively demonetizes content. The problem is it should not be up to them, or to any single unelected body, to decide how much it costs to be allowed the privilege of receiving money from a legal business. It shouldn't really be in anyone's power to make that decision, and the authority to make such decisions should come from elected offices that are directly accountable to an electorate and also to other overseeing bodies.

The problem is the simple existence of a private body that centrally exercises global control over all business and free expression. All it takes is for that body to exist to create problems. An unaccountable small committee that has power over all business worldwide: such a thing cannot exist without fucking society up... which leads to it getting demolished and regulated to force public accountability.

Mastercard and Visa quite literally need to be destroyed and turned into a dozen or so smaller companies AND to prevent future corruption, payment processing as a business needs to be regulated as a utility to prevent it from birthing new oligopolies. NO body on earth should be exercising global power of moderation on business and expression. If such a body exists it must be destroyed and its powers split and separated.

This has happened before with other critical infrastructure monopolies (railroads, oil, telecommunications, electricity, etc.). A corrupt monopoly or oligopoly forms and then because they're unaccountable they basically control all of society and strangle the shit out of business on a global/national scale. Until the damage is so great that it's no longer tolerable and they get their shit kicked in hard. That's how it gets fixed every time: By destroying the oligopoly and splitting its power up into smaller bodies, and by increasing the accountability of businesses in that sector with regulation.

Mastercard and Visa form a CORRUPT DUOPOLY and they need to be broken up and then regulated as utilities. Anything short of that will not actually fix the problem and the problem will crop up again and again until then. Honestly I believe it's an inevitability, because these situations are too big a problem to carry on indefinitely. Sooner or later they cause so much havoc that there is no fucking choice but to fix them. Hosting content on the internet will probably have a similar situation down the road, i.e. Google getting hit and regulations providing relief from platforms privately controlling all content on the internet.

I don't see anybody on there commenting all the incidents of payment processors supporting outright illegal activity. Which happens all the time.

If the goal of deputizing a corporation is to stop illegal activity it doesn't actually work, not that I think that would be the appropriate way to do that anyway.
