South Park + Its Political Sperging (?) Thread - Season 26 ongoing!

to having a an entire faggot song written about that kid character who got hit by a car or something in season 20.
I understand your underlying argument but that was so not the point of that song lmfao that song was about trump using twitter

YEah I know that, I was just ranting there. That being said, that makes the song even cringier lmao. Seriously, the gayest piece of crap South Park's ever put out.
I absolutely despise Rick and Morty but I'll give them credit for being self aware about being stupid reddit bullshit and not LARPING as serious political commentary the way nu South Park does.
Yeah you hit the nail on the head here. Say what you want about Rick and Morty or Family Guy, they do seem self aware to an extent South Park isn't

Apparently, the show destroyed “anti-woke grifters”.

Thumbnail is already bullshit. There's no videos about it on Drinker's channel.
I mean you two are talking about a year old channel with these two videos being amongst its roster

Whining about mockery of TV shows that are blatantly woke and praising "autism representation"

It's not shocking.

This is who they want as an audience. :cunningpepe:

Those Post Covid specials had me wondering why they decided to give Cartman a bad ending but gave Randy a happier future. Dude probably has a higher kill count than Cartman at this point, not to mention he was still an asshole who didn't accept responsibility for his actions in those specials. All to get an "Love you dad" note from Stan?

Honestly, I'm sick of the melodrama shit in modern South Park. Post Covid was peak melodrama. Remember that hysterical crying scene from Sharon when they show Shelly's funeral? Since when is death a big deal in universe, aside from Kenny Dies? (and the whole joke about that episode was how the characters are acting in such a realistic manner). Now, it's like every character has Kenny Dies default personality except for when the show calls for them to be indifferent. South Park went from breaking the fourth wall regarding Kenny's deaths, to having a an entire faggot song written about that kid character who got hit by a car or something in season 20. Oh and Cartman would be the only to be insensitive about topics such as death, everyone else is a goody two shoes.
Honestly, my main problem with modern South Park is that they mellowed down a lot of their evil and crazy characters. Even setting aside how Cartman is no longer the evil kid (I stated before that the real Cartman would of told Kathleen Kennedy to suck his balls and trapped her in the other universer in Panderverse), Mr. Garrison is no longer the crazy alt right character that we know and loved. Sure, they don't want to bring back Garrison Trump because that was probably the worse of Garrison, but is it me or has his relationship with Rick made him a boring character? He isn't allowed to be the crazy racist Garrison that we loved. At least with Mr. Slave Garrison was still a character. Rick brings nothing to South Park in terms of comedy in my opinion and is just there to hold back Garrison imo.

quite literally lmfao
I guess leminwinks or Mr gay Al or Mr garrison are gayer, but they are funny, so it metaphorically evens out

I also miss Mr.Garrison… he was one of my faves earlier seasons.

you’re totally right, big agree
the cast is so big now ; they can’t give a role to everybody— they’re not even doing that with the actual reoccurring characters that have lines and side plots….!
they don’t care to think of Garrison episodes , so they gave an in-show reason why: White Lotus with Rick…..
I’m pretty sure that series has an old tranny that detransitions and a gay incest side plot. I guess he’s still a degenerate even if he’s mellowed out :'(:'(:lit:

idk if it was just me but personally I remember that part of the episode as almost comedic tragic backstory. Maybe they were genuine and it just landed wrong lol.

I do agree do that it was very soap opera-like. Especially with the friendship drama between the main kids. But to be honest I thought it was an entertaining special

For all there is to be said about the show in its current state, seeing Trump as Saddam did make me feel a little nostalgic.

It’s surprising how the entertainment industry cowers at mocking Matt Stone and Trey Parker, as if everyone’s terrified of being mocked in a South Park episode. I can’t remember a single instance of them being parodied.

The “makes fun of everyone” guys sure huff their own farts a lot. Slamming Family Guy was fine, but pretending their toilet humor and dick jokes are high-brow art is arrogant as hell. They’re not above bias, leaning hard on pop culture references and lazy writing themselves. It’s just that their bias is more cynical than partisan.

Rumor has it Seth MacFarlane planned to jab them in Family Guy but backed off last second, maybe to avoid escalation. It wouldn’t be hard, really—just show them as grandpas pulling the “hello fellow kids” meme, refusing to act like adults. Edgy jokes aside, they are textbook Hollywood celebrities including the spiraling into hedonism with sex and drugs to try to fill avoid. Hell they even do the typical, Hollywood elite, schtick of wasting money on frivolous or dumb things.

They’re not above political cowardice, either. Their brutal takedown of transgender people is the harshest I have ever seen, but it hit when the pendulum swung hard right. During the woke era, they mostly mocked PC culture without tackling the real insanity behind it, which they would’ve shredded in the 90s.

Kinda surprised the Creek faggots never did anything with this moment.
This had more chemistry than anything between him and Tweek prior to the Yaoi episode. How nu-South Park tumblrite fans still came to pair these two together is still a complete mystery.

This one hits the nail on the head. Their critique of PC culture pretty much boils down to "people like that are annoying hypocrites who use it for their own personal gain" without ever addressing that the causes that "woke" fights for are, in themselves, wrong.

Even the biggest South Park ballwashers screamed for years that the show was dying and unfunny because they went all in on the stupid Tegridy Weed stuff to try and sell weed irl and now are only back to liking the show because orange man bad, I don't think people would be as mad at this if they even bothered to make fun of Biden for being half dead for four years.

The biggest evidence to me that Matt and Trey sold out hard is that the DNC's candidate for the 2024 election cycle was a woman who by her own admission sucked so many cocks that she was able to go from intern to presidential candidate.

Think about that for a second, you have a woman who's entire career is literally based on sucking BBC and yet as of today, 8/2/2025 not a single joke has been made about the world's easiest and most obvious punchline.

It's that no one cares. They are not popular anymore. Their entire show for the last two decades revolved around them chasing more famous media entities and trying to get them to notice South Park enough to publicly comment on it. That was the sole focus of the show. To generate publicity by mocking someone more famous than South Park to the point where the person would openly respond. It made them look like pathetic faggots who had to be noticed for validation.

So you'd get an entire episode about the Jersey Shore reality television show. Then an episode about Ben Afleck and Jennifer Lopez. Then an episode about the History Channel. Then an episode about Mel Gibson. Just them hoping and praying that someone would give them the attention that they desperately sought. So that some D-list television celebrity whose trashy reality show got high ratings would make a public statement about them that they could gloat over. "Oh dude we owned them so hard and forced them to admit it was funny". As their influence and popularity diminished the targets went from A-list actors to F-list nobodies.

Now it's even worse. They actually do the opposite and suck up to the favorite celebrities hoping to get a response. Glowing episodes about James Cameron 'raising the bar'. Literally having Elon Musk on the show to voice himself instead of mocking his 'kung fu practice' with Maxwell and Epstein. Making safe portrayals of people like Bill Gates or Jeff Bezos hoping for them to get in touch with South Park and extend a hand. Gates another Epstein pedophile. Having that faggot streamer on the show to interact with Cartman. Doing an Al Gore apology episode.
Rumor has it Seth MacFarlane planned to jab them in Family Guy but backed off last second, maybe to avoid escalation.
He knows that not mentioning them or responding to them is like a roundhouse kick to the face. Every once in a while he'll comment on them saying he's happy that there are still other people making cartoons "like Family Guy". Knowing that it drives Stone and Parker insane to have South Park compared to his show.

It’d be fun to see other shows make more digs at them, I agree. But South Park definitely doesn’t pretend their toilet humor is high art lol the whole Terrance and Phillip is a self burn. The whole movie as well.

I don’t expect others to agree, but to be honest, I still think most seasons were very funny and very witty, gross-out humor withstanding.

In isolation, yes, but when they compare themselves to Family Guy, they absolutely do so with disdain, and superiority, implying they are at a higher level, and they don't even hide it. They genuinely believe they are better than Family Guy. Trey outright said, "They don't work hard enough" (never mind that they only show up to work once a year to work).

And Cartman's whole rant about Family Guy:

"I am nothing like Family Guy! When I make jokes, they are inherent to a story. Deep situational and emotional jokes based on what is relevant and has a point. Not just one random, interchangeable joke after another!"

Wich they used him to bitch about how people compare them to Family Guy because I guess their dicks jokes are more classy or something. Meanwhile every sane adult just sees both as just different flavors of adult cartoons. I am not even into Family Guy, but I still think their superiority complex, and being offended by being compared to another adult cartoon is dumb and arrogant as hell.

The closest to a take down of South Park has ever seen was a bit on the Simpsons where they made fun of how early South Park was pop culture member berries and gratuitous violence, as well as a Mad TV parody which accused Trey and Matt of ripping off the Peanuts comic strip complete with a super disturbing ending where Snoopy morphs into Mr Hanky and starts talking like him.

But part of the problem is that Trey and Matt DO have power to fuck with people. They pretty much got away with shitting on Family Guy and if you believe certain people, not only got Drawn Together cancelled but also banned the makers of Drawn Together from ever making fun of them.

That said, Seth got the last laugh as Trey and Matt had to watch Seth pretty much get 100% creative freedom on Family Guy after Cartoon Wars as far as Fox allowing him to make episodes uncut for DVD, slightly censored for adult swim, and more censored for Fox, at a time when Trey and Matt were getting their auteur card ripped up over showing Mohammed, operating under a new group of restrictive S&P folks that had started to crack down on them after Cartoon Wars, and having to beg just to be allowed to have their swears be unbleeped on DVD, culminating in the 200/201 debacle.

Meanwhile Seth only referenced South Park on Family Guy via a throwaway line about the show being on the receiving end of a "good natured razzing" from Trey and Matt, in the Family Guy Through The Years episode. Which indicates Seth probably feels that Trey and Matt's hate for him is rooted in seething jealousy.

But yeah, Trey and Matt DESPERATELY need to be knocked down a couple of pegs.

Now that you mention white people this reminds me about the thing with Kenny's family being poor and it was always portrayed in a way that the whole joke was pretty much "look at those poor stupid rednecks, this guy probably beats his wife, why do those stupid white people have so many kids etc.".
There was even one episode where Dad was like "Kyle's dad succeded in life because he is a jew" and they went "no actually, it's because Kyle's dad is a good, hardworking person, and you are stupid, lazy, white redneck".
For an obvious reason they never did an episode in which a black character becomes a drug dealer and acts like "evil white racism forced me to do this" that ends with a point that he is a terrible person.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but probably the only time they "made fun" of blacks is that one episode about Jimmy in which there is a black gang as basically a background character that only exists so they could make one joke that Jimmy thought that the name "Crips" means that it's a club for crippled people.
