This may have happened a while ago but what is the deal with Taylor Swift’s career? I heard this when she was constantly appearing everywhere in 2023-24 and her fans actually got their own community watch thread for their insane behavior.
The scuttlebutt is this: someone said that Taylor got screwed in a contract and now, technically, doesn’t own her own music. It was some backroom deal, not reading between the lines or something. But it does explain some of her actions that hurt her career like the publicity stunts and acting political when, really, who cares what a celebrity think? But does anyone have the details on that?
Taylor was largely apolitical up until 2017 and took a huge amount of flack for refusing to endorse Hillary unlike Katey Perry, who was a huge Hillary surrogate during her campaign. She also released Reputation, which was considered her alt right dog whistle album.
George Soros could not abide by Taylor not being on the Anti Trump train and basically conspired with one of Taylor's enemies to outbid her on buying her back catalog (everything through Reputation) as Taylor's record contract was up and she wanted to buy them back to take them with her to her new label.
Taylor got fucked over and had to resort to rerecording her old stuff to circumvent the sale (a lot of musicians do this, when they own the songs themselves but not the master recordings). But high end redoes of entire albums take time and while Taylor managed to get major radio stations to only play the redos, she lived in constant fear that her enemy would license her original master songs out to anyone at dirt cheap rates to flood the market and to fuck over Taylor and her desire to make money on the remake albums. So she had to buy them back and that meant bending the knee to the woke crowd.
She started shitting on Republicans, Trump, and endorsing Democrats left and right. She also made her "woke" album Lovers, which featured a whole slew of humiliation rituals: making out with a black man, male drag, doing a duet with liberal sex pest, and a video filled with trannies and gay influencers that culminated in Taylor being made to bend the knee in public fashion to Katey Perry.
Lovers was a HUGE flop, so much so that Taylor had to rush out a folk music album ASAP TO damage control shit, even as she was made to continue to sleep DNC talking points and endorse Democrats. Culminating in her being literally prostituted out to Kelce, the football player who secured Taylor as his concubine as part of a deal to promote Phizer Covid shots.
Only in the last couple of months did Soros give the order to sell her back catalog back to Taylor, at huge mark up I should note, after she endorsed Kamala
