Trump didn't endorse anyone for Senate Majority Leader and Paul didn't run for the job, he endorsed Rick Scott. It was a closed-doors, smoke-filled-room 'election' where neither Trump nor the MAGA base had any input & a RINO was guaranteed to win either way due to how many of them are still there - Scott didn't make it past the first round and the final alternative to Thune, if you want to call it that, was John fucking Cornyn.
