This maybe a little off topic, but @Forsaken Wanderer what are your thoughts on animation? More specifically, traditional vs CG or the state of western animation. I know you criticized modern anime in the past for looking extremely same-y (which I agree with).

While Disney Adults are cringe, I feel like the art of animation peaked in the golden age and renaissance era. Early 2000s Disney and Dreamworks had this interesting blend of 2D and 3D that has been lost.

Especially during the golden age of both cinema and traditional animation, we were given painted backgrounds which would be worthy of being displayed in museums.

Those are very beautiful frames, they capture the natural wonder of the world outside of our concrete prisons, and I'd hang those on my wall.

Western animation has the same problem as Japanese animation but worse - homogenization.

At least with Japan the generic anime art style is still pleasing, the characters distill the human form down to the most elegant traits, and the landscapes in anime are so vibrant and inviting.

But, since almost all anime shows and japanese games look the same it has become very boring to look at. Long gone are the days of Geomon and Bubblegum Crisis. Long gone are the days of Yugioh and Dragon Ball Z when 3d animation was used sparingly to add effect.

Western animation is all the same but it's so fucking ugly to look at.

Modern western 3d is all the same slop like this -

Characters that are painful to look at, environments that look like trash

Modern 2d animation is just as bad, it's all low effort and as sloppy as possible -


I miss the days when media was distinct and pleasing on the eyes.

I also like that era when early 3d graphics were mixed with traditional drawings. Even early 3d still looks good. With Toy Story you can tell it's from the early days of 3d rendering but the style is still very good.

When I was made redundant I went for a few walks even though it wasn't easy. Why did I do that then? Because I wasn't controlled by the wage cage.

I’ll be honest, I actually never noticed that about the logo. It’s really cool graphic design that we just don’t see from companies anymore. I believe the outsourcing of talent has sucked out a lot of character from entertainment.

It looks like they photo shopped in real sandwiches and then shopped them. They are not bears but demonic former humans of hell. And how exactly does this modern slop design fit at all with the original yogi design? There is none of the original character there.

Modern AAA games are farmed out to Indians so that they can make mobile game graphics for them on the cheap, which always include grey/brown environments and blue/orange enemies and items, it's lifeless!

The other thing that has sucked character from logos is minimalism. Everything has been distilled down to nothingness now. If Silicon Graphics were still around then their logo would just be flat 3 lines representing part of a cube.

When are we going to leave this minimalism era?

What do you need 4 hours for in the morning? I'll assume an hour for getting up, dressing and breakfast which leaves 3 hours for travel. If you live 3 hours away from your work deep in the forest or whatever, how can you complain about nigs or there being nothing to see?

Edit: You need to write down your daily timetable for us. I need to see how long it takes for you to do basic activities. Literally just grab a notepad and pencil, and just write down the time and name of activity when you start it.

Write down a timetable? I've never really calculated it all before though, I just know the total time things take all together.

I only get about 5 hours sleep a night during the week as there isn't time to sleep. And sometimes I sadly fall asleep at the computer table and end up going to bed late, with no good rest granted from sleeping at the table.

No but there is this bullshit called "Kiwisaver" in NZ, it's an absolute waste of money and time, where a little bit of your income goes into an account you can't touch unless you are buying your first home or retiring. The government contributes a very small amount towards this if you put enough money in each year "The maximum amount the government contributes is $260.72 yearly", so it's fucking MLM scam levels of scamming. Darksydephil levels even.

Retirement doesn't exist for us The Last Stand. Either we will be dead before then or there won't be a pension because the west has fallen, so I wouldn't worry about it, just treat every day as if it was your last.
