So im a little confused about this "House Democrats running away to stop redistricting"

Why does it even matter that theyre not there? I feel like I came in in the middle of the conversation and all it looks like to me is "I'm big mad that my mom is telling me to clean my room so I'll run away."

They can be legally dragged back? I guess I don't entirely understand the whole "issuing warrants". Why can't their vote just be void because they aren't there?
To my understanding they're trying to use some desperate legal legislative technicality or whatever to stop the redistricting. Historically on the state level, this apparently isn't a new tactic but it has had limited success. Gov. Greg Abbott can call unlimited special sessions lasting up to 30 days each. If Democrats break quorum during the current special session, which runs through late August, Abbott could immediately call another session the next day, and continue doing so indefinitely.

I don't know if you're still mentally stuck in 2015 or too young to remember it, but people don't believe in this wolf anymore.
Purple Texas is the cold fusion of US politics. New Jersey is more purple than Texas at this point, and it's not particularly close.
NJ: 51.9% Kamala, 46% Trump
Texas: 56.1% Trump, 42.4% Kamala

This is before the deportation waves, btw. If the Republicans manage to force through voter ID laws federally (which should honestly be a much higher priority than it is right now), the next few presidential elections are gonna be blowouts.

2/3s of the House HAS to be present to do shit. There are 150 members, but 61 are Democrats and probably at least 14 more are Democrats pretending to be Republican.

Edit: I should also mention that every day Democrats break quorum they're being fined $500 per day which isn't nearly enough as long as the Dem donors are financing it. There's been some scuttlebutt about Abbott declaring that kind of funding an illegal bribe, but I doubt that'd actually fly and is likely just posturing.

Texas Law requires that each house have a quorum to operate. In particular, our Constitution provides that “[t]wo-thirds of each House shall constitute a quorum to do business.” TEX. CONST. art. III, § 10.
This makes sense, because you don’t want just like one person there and able to ram everything through.

Democrats abuse this provision to flee the state and deny the constitutionally required quorum when they know they’re going to lose a vote on an issue they hate.

Texas law does allow them to be dragged back upon vote by the remaining house members to deploy the sergeant at arms. But as they are a state law enforcement agency, their jurisdiction ends at state lines. So when democrats are out of state, extradition by that state is required for them to be dragged back.

You must be so giddy that Americans are essentially slaves to jews and decisions of life and death are made depending on which goy is the most loyal.
You're like those women who are breathless about the loss of abortion rights and being used as breeding slaves. You get caught up in the fantasy of being oppressed to pleasure yourself while I'm forced to uncomfortably listen to your accusations

This is why no one believes your gayass larp. Because you're against provisions which actually WOULD help americans
Punishing Americans for wrongthink against Israel is "helping Americans?"

In Washington, D.C. political news a Confederate general statue toppled in 2020 is to be reinstalled. Besides being aligned with the Confederacy the general also had links to Freemasonry and the Ku Klux Klan.

They will do anything to distract us from the Epstein files, even when it's far too late to do so.

No one is forcing you to come in here and argue with /pol/ doompillers. Unless you're implying it's part of a job you're doing.
