Blue Archive - The south Korean Gacha game that almost died, is now being released on Steam this summer.

I know that, but I thought the point was to point buy a character you don't own. Not that the available characters are particularly good...
You need 3 months to buy a student that needs the rare coin and 2 months for students that use the common coin. The most useful GA shop student is Natsu as a tank that can cleanse herself. She was only recently added there a few months ago.

The TA shop students are much more useful. Koharu should be bought as soon as you can since she's an aoe Striker healer. She's used in the current Greg Raid to double duty as a healer and someone that flips the organ and in the upcoming Kurokage Raid since that one needs your students to constantly keep being healed to avoid the mind control debuff.

Yeah the farmable students in the Grand Assault store really aren't that stellar. I think out of the T1 Grand Assault coin Mimori is the best option overall and with T2 Sena and Bunny Asuna are good options but they're overshadowed by their T2 options in Total Assault which are Koharu - Still one of the best students in the game due to her strong heal and flexibility. Azusa? Insane red ST damage and DEF shred all in one. The T1 selection ain't too shabby either - Maki? Momoi? Kotama? Akane? All very useful in many if not most situations in the case of Kotama. Joint Firing Drill only has 3 students but I'm a big advocate for 2 of them, though they both need a lot of investment to truly shine. Eimi imo becomes the best red armor tank in the game, she gets so much self-healing that she just refuses to die, she even does decent damage for a tank. Tsurugi, very good pseudo-tank, becomes among the best yellow mobbers at high and max investment imo - big damage, big toughness, big AA AoE, great self-heal. I have no idea why they put Sumire tho, she's an AoE yellow damage pseudo-tank like Tsurugi but I struggle to think of a single scenario where I'd prefer her over Tsurugi, if she needed less investment to be immediately useful I'd get it but no, Sumire also needs a lot of investment to become good.

Anyway, I'm surprised this hasn't been asked, but who are your favorite chars? I mean by their personality and stuff not their meta viability or whatever the fuck. Mine are Tsurugi and Wakamo. No, I do not have a type.

Ghennas glow in the dark you can see them if you driving. You run them over, that's what you do.

Fucking Ghennas...
PoV: You're a Gehenner

Hard to say because I feel like every character has something likeable about them, which makes picking a favorite hard. Personally though I'd say Mari, T. Shiroko, Reisa, and Moe, in that order.

I think that's the game's biggest strength, it's got loads of characters and all of them are likable, even ones that are explicitly written to be annoying.

I used to be 100% Makoto hater to the point of writing an essay about how she's a careercow.
Silly idea: what if Kivotos had a website like Kiwi Farms? It is canon that Social Media is a thing there, at least. Due to how story is told, almost all the on-screen examples are probably "careercows" (you could reasonable mention that Momoi/Midori/someone hate-watches a streamer whose not only

Aru and Makoto fit the definition almost perfectly. With Aru (who is only responsible for four people including herself) it comes as of as "cute girlfailure" and her thread could be a little more than a glorified Personal Army Request from someone inconvenienced by Problem Solver 68 (Helmet-gangers that they shot and replaced, someone who hired them and got an expensive mess instead, even some of their subcontractors.) Meanwhile Makoto is a "de-facto-head-of-state" whose incompetence causes or at least amplifies a major crisis. I would imagine she could easily have a 100-page thread, albeit with a rather circular discussion. Despite concerns that everyone defending Makoto is just a contrarian stirring shit, thread is allowed to go on mostly because it's contained there instead of spilling into "Gehenna Politics General.") Game Development Department doesn't really fit because they're (at least relatively) way too receptive to feedback. Maybe the Kronos reporters?
But then (an actual, albeit minor story spoiler)
In Volume F, she casually airdrops a Tiger I tank to help with a critical mission and (even if in a goofy way) manages to come off as cool and heroic leader-type.

That's the entire point of her characterization, similar students are called dorks in the community. Aru, Marina, Kaho and Mina have the same characterization. Honestly, Hasumi has been getting flanderized a lot through the years and from her swimsuit alt's cafe item and new EX skill it seems like she's fully been turned into a dork in my opinion.

MDR in Girls Frontline made explicit references to their version of 4Chan, and anonymous image board called GriffChan where she would sperg about how bullpups are the best kind of rifles and nobody would reply to her bait threads. I can't recall where it was but i'm sure Momoi also made references to something similar in one of her stories.

As for a KivotosFarms...

I actually like the "girlfailure" -archetype. Like I alluded to in my original post, Aru is cute and Makoto is cringe, because of how different the amount of responsibility they have. When Aru does bad leadership, three people are directly affected by it. When Makoto does bad leadership, entire Gehenna is directly affected by it. And because Gehenna is one of the three largest schools in Kivotos, this can escalate to an all-out diplomatic crisis.

Also I assume that (one of) the inciting trait(s) for Hasumi's flanderization was her concern for being overweight. I think it may have been mentioned as far as in the prologue, but it was kicked into overdrive by none other than Makoto in Vol 3 (by complete accident btw, she can't even body shame correctly.)

I've been randomly logging in sometimes despite not ever playing more than the amount required to reach the main menu. I figured I might give it a proper try at some point but a gigantic new update dropped and I have no room for it. Does this shit get huge updates like this often? That can't be sustainable.

Those fucking gooks are rapid-firing old content so all the new players can catch up with the old players.

No, it's because they specifically said that they're starting the process of shortening the delay between global and JP/KR from 6 to 3 months, they've done it that way before, it's why they crammed the Valentine's event and the Tree of Sephiroth event into the same week as the New Year's camping event, usually events for dead weeks, which is what the Valentine's and Tree of Sephiroth event are, would just be there on their own. If you started playing with the Steam version, you may remember the Balancing the Books event which is another dead week event and it stood on its own.

Same with raids, iirc Kurokage wasn't supposed to be this week's raid, they skipped a few of them, tho Kurokage is not a problem if you started playing recently like Greg was last week, Greg is probably the worst boss for new players as I've detailed a few pages ago. You should reasonably be level 55-65 if you started playing with the Steam version's release so you can easily demolish all of Kurokage's difficulties up to Hardcore by just borrowing a clubmate's/friend's level 90 Swimsuit Hanako and making sure to have regular Hanako as your healer (there are of course much better healers for Kurokage, notably Koharu and Atsuko, but you most likely don't have either of those and regular Hanako is a 2* so everyone should have her).

The actual update is like 1GB of new content, the remaining 5gb are updates to what currently exists. Game went from 10.4GB to 11.24GB.

Yeah this update is crammed. They're usually like 3-4 gigs for the biggest ones. Atleast they push updates directly through Steam for the PC client, on mobile you have to launch the game and download it, which takes ages even if you have a super fast connection like I do. Them trying to "close the gap" between Global and JP definitely seems to have had an effect

New event is 10/10, Geheniggers are always so much fun. Also god damn I want to go for Sena in a sundress, but need to keep the grind for better units.

It's nice they updated the images in the title. Finished Chapter 3 part 3 and jumped into Chapter 4 for a little change of pace. The rabbit squad sure are fun, especially when they brutally suppress hippie hobos.
