Transformers general thread - Toy Robot men based on giant robots based on previously mentioned toys about said robots

Question. I want to get an MP figure, official or 3rd party doesn’t matter to me much. But with official figures I see a bunch of them sold everywhere on eBay and Mercari. I know that it can be easy to make fakes and bootlegs of the figures that they look like the real deal. How do I tell if I’m buying the real MP figures and should I get them or go the 3P route?

MP KOs are abundant, in a lot of cases the only giveaway is if the price is even remotely reasonable (except for MP-21 Ironhide, that figure is very cheap on the aftermarket for some reason), then it's probably a KO.

It's Monday. Time for metal working.

I was seriously considering getting a Devcon and RB Heatwave but 25-30 and I just said 'fuck you' to them. I can't and won't pay more for less. I'm so sick of Hasbro doing this. (Again, didn't even complete the RB line for Legacy) I swear to God man *sigh*

Since Sega did a collaboration with Sonic TF figures, you think we'll get Nintendo on it or os that just wishful thinking? Never thought Mattel would be producing TF Hotwheels so...its not too crazy right?

Closest thing we have right now are the third party figures of "bluster and trench" from like nearly if not a decade back now that I missed out on and still want kinda due to how clean they are.

Technically it's cheating because they were based on unreleased Animated characters who were blatantly just royalty free mario and luigi.

Still they never made real figures of them so that's gonna be your closest bet if they ever do it.

Someone from TFW asked one of the designers about Animated Omega Supreme.

Lugnut being potentially stuck as "possible titan omega retool" is fucking dire. The situatation with animated decepticons in comparison to autobots is already fucking dire as it is. You got one of a 5 man team that only showed up in comics because he's an easy prime retool, and fugitive wasp (labelled as fugitive waspinator) who was an autobot that got framed as a decepticon by shockwave and as a result became a schizo who hated both sides.

God, Imagine if they did an animated devastator. NO I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT HASLAB COMBINERS SHOULDNT BE RELEGATED TO THAT I'M STILL SORE OVER LIOKAISER. It'd require them to actually make voyager sized bots for most of the team and with ss86 devastator being adeluxes marked as voyagers it's likely never gonna happen.

He's talking about Lugnut Supreme, which were replicas of Omega Supreme with Lugnut's appearance and personality.

Yeah, I remember these. Was mainly thinking about the fact people have been wanting another (PROPERLY TALL THIS TIME) lugnut for years to the point the last voyager one from over a decade back when animated was still new is now scalped for ridiculous prices online paints a picture of a sort.

the generations lugnut was so good, but it was a g1 version of the guy.
the only toys we got of animated lugnut is the tiny voyager one and a happy meal figure.
Back then "g1 version" just meant more realistic details which is kinda funny comparing it to "g1-ified" designs of the last few years where they remove detail. Also technically it was a "bayverse" version though they did overlap a bit sometimes. A lot of the bayverse stuff that wasn't fromt he movie was just the more mecha-ified blatantly just updated g1 style guys as figures in that line like bludgeon was. Also ALSO it weirdly shares the colors of the "atomic" repaint of lugnut rather than the default lugnut.

I found a custom someone made looking up comparisons to double check if my memory about the height of both the animated and generations lugnut being the same odd small-ness.
I think inaccuracies due to being a mishmash of pre-existing figures aside this custom's possibly the closest to lugnut's actual height.1754415429042.webp1754415595589.webp1754415634694.webp

EDIT: oh shit it transforms too!

There's a Thread about it which is where most of these images seem to stem from. Linking it in case I get the idea to try copying this with the little experience I have with that sort of kitbashing.

I NEED Hasbro to make this Rodimus into a figure. I don't care which color scheme they go with. I just need him in my hands.

Matter of fact, they need to start doing more comic characters/designs. Like, it needs its own line or something.

Technically the one on the left is a takara figure in an expensive fucking spinoff collab line they're doing with flamestoys. So they DID make that rodimus into a figure... but it's not affordable in the slightest. At least not int he US. Might be cheaper overseas like that upcoming predaking supposedly is. Stille expensive but it's like haslab expensive which seems to be what they want people to pay for combiners now anyways.

I just want shit to be affordable and high quality, not skimped on. Kingdom galvatron type good shit minus the weird jank of them refusing to paint the sides of his feet black/dark grey and the tops of his shoulder pauldrons red. Getting a tiny bit extra paint should not be such an absurd price hike as what they've been trying to do lately like with that one con exclusive ss86 optimus prime with the painted matrix chamber and "battle damage paint".

Apparently Predaking is ~$330 + shipping on Amazon Japan compared to $300 for Liokaiser, both of which are too much for combiners the size of Legacy Menasor.

I assume the US stores will be getting Nemesis Prime too? I prefer ordering from Big Bad Toy Store. But I do have an Amazon Japan account too.

I made my own custom G1 Nemesis Prime years ago using a black KO and this sticker sheet:
ShowZStore just listed it, hopefully the final price won't be too heinous.
