Eternal will never be a Doom game no matter how much you cope. It is a nu-Doom action platformer with some token FPS elements, it's more of a puzzle game than an FPS if anything since every since combat arena is a combat puzzle and you can't just tackle your opponents however you wish, as it was so elegantly explained already. That's not Doom, that's a speedrunner oriented difficulty mod packaged as a mainline release.
Shitty marvel writing, turret sections, Doom "Slayer"s fucking moonbase, and every other cringy new addition stems from Eternal and will continue going forward, because the core Doom audience isn't what they want. They want (you), the nu-Doom fans, or rather "Doom tourists" who are the maggots feasting on the shit that nu-iD is taking on the franchise before they run it into the ground again.
Literally, all of this dork's gripes boil down to the asthetics; it can't be too fast because then it becomes tranny speedrun shit. It can't have weapon-enemy specialization because then it becomes a puzzle game. Bringing up archiac /v/ complaints like "you can't just tackle your opponents however you wish", like what the fuck do you mean? You can literally do whatever you want and you will win. Nothing in Eternal's campaign is so difficult that the game "forces" you to play in any way at all. Weapon switching wasn't even "intended," its just tech they left in and added a little loading screen guide along with the first dlc. Any gun kills any thing, like in every doom game. Btw, why does this guy think people switched weapons for in OG doom if not for the game somehow "forcing" them to do it?
