No, these are the clowns who would occasionally take us down for a few minutes or make the site slightly slower from time to time. From Null's description the people who did the longer and more impactful DDoSes were pretty sophisticated and came up with bespoke Layer 7 attacks (i.e. application specific attacks on our specific software).
