IIRC, and Quizibo can correct me if I'm wrong, but there's a lot of nice Temples, beaches, dunes, restaurants, museums, and I think some night cruises (going out on a tour on a boat at night to see the area). Basically things that an actual foreigner would be interested in to experience Japanese culture and history, but nothing Cheebs would be interested in because there's Nintendo. If he got there earlier (the first sunday in April) he could have gone to the Kanayama Jinja shrine and saw the festival that celebrates fertility. There's literally a giant dong statue there and it's celebrated.
And in a suit no less. Even if he goes to Hong Kong and gets himself a half-dozen suits is the lightest material he can find he'll still be dying.
