Only three. The meme character Disney intentionally failed to capitalized on. The other two were from the rise of skywalker. TR8R unironically could’ve been as big as baby yoda. TR8R had a bigger impact captain phasma. TR8R with zero irony could’ve became the sequel trilogy Boba Fett. Pre-Disney Star Wars would’ve turned TR8R into a EU fan favorite character with multiple books, action figures, comics and video games.

I would have added, "I've died before" and "Nav can't tell which way is up," but yes, these are meme scenes. They are memes that showcase how much of a hack fraud JJ Abrams is. TLJ meme scenes would be Luke throwing away his lightsaber like in slapstick or milking the green titty. I want to say Rose's speech, but only because the Empire blows up the door right after she says it to undercut her dramatic scene.

I'm not saying that there aren't any memes -- Somehow [blank] has returned is one that is going to exist forever. What I was meaning to say is that I'm skeptical about is that people are going to go through and mine the shit out of the sequel movies like folks did with the prequels, largely because I think the sequel films are milquetoast and largely forgettable.

I could be wrong and maybe Gen Alpha (or whatever) will come along and revive it 10-15 years down the road, but I'm skeptical.

Can you give me a tl;dr on Iron Liz? Is that person a 100% confirmed tranny? Last time I saw him/her was about a decade ago and I remember thinking "there's no way this is a woman." That was a few years before trannies became the controversial topic they are today.
Yes and Iron Liz is based.

If Mike really wanted to be insightful, he would dive (more) into the honest-to-God cult the Zoomer Prequel Revisionists have become.
He has already done that and it was dumb.

I never thought Mike would be able to make a Plinkett review boring and run nearly an hour without saying anything, but here we are.
It's the second time. The first was his Last Jedi review where he spent half of the video criticizing and mocking some SW fan theories (Ring theory?) instead of the actual movie.

Plinkett should have made a review breaking down The Rise of Skywalker. Because that is a movie that actually deserves the Plinkett treatment.
I wish Hack Fraud Media had finished his review but I think the guy has moved on. It's a shame because he did a good job emulating Mike's style.

Star Wars was at its most popular and profitable during the prequel era. Toys, books, video games, and cartoons were the most popular after Revenge of the Sith. Hollywood made it trendy to hate George Lucas and the prequels. Red Letter Media was sponging off Kevin Smith, making fun of the Star Wars prequels. Prequel hate was proto-Big Bang Theory Hollywood writing.
This is also what Mike doesn’t account for when talking about how The Acolyte and other nu-SW shows will hold up in the future compared to the prequels. Undoubtedly there will be some people with rose-tinted glasses, but the fact that nu-SW merch has notoriously sold so abysmally and had very little impact with the youth shows that there won’t actually be that many people who grew up loving nu-SW and provide a “critical reevaluation” that Mike and RLM cope will happen.

And yeah, a lot of the prequel-hate is incredibly embarrassing and proto-Reddit in hindsight. The fact people actually made a song called “George Lucas raped my childhood” and didn’t die of cringe afterwards shows they weren’t actually people deserving of being taken seriously.

TLJ is exaggerated in killing the franchise. TFA was already shit, that nobody talks about anymore. TLJ is at least fun to hate.
What I'm saying is that if you had TFA and the Empire Slops Back followed by Rise of Skywalker, exactly identical to the real movie complete with references to TLJ, people would realize the movies are bad, but the toys would still sell and people would still be interested in actually good Star Wars media. I'm told Andor is actually really good, honest, but nobody is watching it.

The most embarrassing part of his video was when he pretended to not know what "woke" means because he thought it would make the people he's mocking look stupid
I’ve always thought the definition of “woke” is a pretty easy one: “something that pushes a modern left-wing worldview”. I’d also add that “woke” tends to imply preachiness, dogmatism, and lack of nuance for other perspectives. Remember the term “woke” was actually coined by leftists themselves and described that something or someone was “woken up” to the left-wing conception of the world. Like: “I’m woke to the plight of African-Americans”.

What a bunch of hackfrauds!

Mike really cannot admit that maybe the prequels weren't as hated as he wants to believe. Comparing them to the acolyte is peak contrarian faggotry "your beloved prequels are as crap as the lesbian witches series CHUDS!", sure Mike, nice cherry picking.
They were hated, but there was passion and love behind that hate, because the fans loved what came before and what could have been. What the sequels earned is indifference which is so much worse than hate. Hate and love are intertwined, indifference is the death of both.

Above everything, the latest Plinkett video was just boring. Just a slop fest of greatest hits. No insight, just takes that are passable on reddit.

It’s also annoying because nu-Trek and Disney Star Wars are parallel paths yet Mike and Rich ripped apart (rightfully so) nu-Trek. They view discourse around Star Wars as a symptom of a right wing vs left wing issue, yet this was the same discourse around nu-Trek.

I think RLM just needs an actual creative project they can sink their teeth into. A project that can get them out of this entire rut they are in. Remember when they released a video of Mike talking with Rich about metal band names? Then a record label sent RLM vinyls of some of the metal artist signed to them and I genuinely thought that Mike was going to force Rich to go to a metal show in their area. They are happy being as lazy as George Lucas directing.

Mike Stolas is such a faggot hack fraud even zionist groomers lulzcows are making fun of him. Razorfist isn’t wrong. Disney Star Wars was 100% Mike wish list.

So how exactly did Palpatine return? That Fortnite message explains nothing.

Ironically I hope. Like 70s fashion and bell-bottoms.
That's explained very clearly in the movie, he did it somehow. It's easy to write off Palpatine's message as being unimportant because the whole movie is an unimportant waste of time, but if the movie was half decent it would be very obvious that it's important to actually show Palpatine's message, which is of course why they even bothered to make it in the first place and show it to all of the children who play Fortnite because that's definitely a great way to spend your advertising budget.

South Park figured out TFA was bad from the start. That's what memberberries are about.

Who said Luke's torpedo even had to hit its target? You're telling me you buy the official New Republic narrative that Luke Skywalker, while flying a starfighter for his sister's terrorist organization, blew up the most expensive and heavily defended battle station in history all while his father was flying behind him? His father also being the only Imperial to survive? If you believe that then I've got some beachfront property on Tattooine to sell you.

I hear their were dancing Toydarians who were recording the battle. Their cover was they were some interplanetary moving company and they were dancing and celebrating on the bridge of their cruiser.

They were hated by the terminally online nerds that dominated the internet at that time. But they were still liked by the general movie going audience. And even the terminally online nerds recognized that the clone wars animated series were pretty sweet, and those series also had much wider appeal than the star wars novels which was the main vehicle after the OT to keep things going.

The prequels may be clumsy messes for the most part (though episode 3 I find legitimate) but they revitized the franchise as a whole and made it much more mainstream than the original trilogy ever was. Compare that to the sequel franchise and all the slop after and it's night and day. The merch is not selling anywhere near like it used to and only the stuff that points to the OT and PT era. We don't know how many people even watch the slop, now that it's all streaming service data instead of seats in theaters, it's completely opaque.

I wrote off Star Wars completely and utterly after TLJ and though less extreme, I imagine a lot of people just tapped out. I have also heard Andor is the shits and I give negative fucks about it. I have friends who only watches the Filoni stuff though and had star wars become wolf furry fetish's playground, the franchise would still be in a better state than after JJ, round head and multiple lesbians went through it.

Here's what happened with the Prequels:

Adult Star Wars nerds hated them as they were being released. Kids, however, loved them. Those kids have grown up to have nostalgia for the Prequels and the hype surrounding every one of their OG theatrical releases.

What kid actually enjoys Disney Star Wars though? I don't see any.

And, while I have always had my gripes about the Prequels, I never hated them outright (and, I've always overall liked ROTS, warts and all). I dunno, those movies never made me angry. Back when the Prequels came out, I was too busy obsessing over the LOTR movies and the Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies. lol.

Also, even if I thought the Prequels were irredeemable dogshit, they are still masterpieces compared to what Disney has shat out.

Edit: Also, I remember when I saw the 2009 Star Trek movie. My husband (who was my boyfriend at the time) wanted to go see Into Darkness for a date night, so I finally decided to check out the 2009 movie literally on the night before we saw Into Darkness on opening night.

As I was watching the 2009 movie, I was proverbially scratching my head the entire time, wondering why the hell it got so much hype. I personally thought the screenplay was bad and clunky. Well, when I saw Into Darkness in theaters, I practically turned into Rich Evans ... I was howl-laughing throughout the entire damn movie because it was so laughably bad. The entire audience I was in the theater with laughed at the movie too. Everyone there knew it was awful ... Which actually made for a fun movie theater experience.

I believe they bring it up at a point in that What happened vid but I hate that there's this weird crowd of people that insist 10 years from now, the sequels will have their image rehabilitated and be as beloved as the prequels are now.

That's just not going to happen and for a few reasons. The main one being the sequel trilogy is unfathomable dogshit. Say what you want about the prequels. They tell a coherent story and most importantly are watchable. The sequels went from nostalgia baiting, to completely destroying everything that star wars was about then backpeddling on that destruction as best as they could. But that didn't really help because there's just no where to go from there. There's a reason we haven't seen basically anything that continues after the sequels and that's because they have nothing. No one likes Rey and shes a palpatine usurper of the Skywalker name. Finn is nothing. Poe is nothing. The Republic established in the wake of the Empires fall has been destroyed and all the great heroes are dead and disgraced as well.

The prequels were also at least enjoyable to watch, are infinitely quotable because of the cheesy dialogue and the action was solid too. Prequel era also benefits greatly from a good amount of actually enjoyable non-movie material. Some of the best star wars games were coming out when the prequels were happening and The Clone Wars definitely helped shore up a lot of the story weaknesses of the prequels as well. Yeah there was obviously a lot of dogshit too but the good was GOOD.

Whereas all the extra material around now is unfathomable dogshit just the sequels beside what, like, Jedi Survivor and Andor? Im reserving my judgement on that X-Com like game because it looks fine at least but still. There's just nothing here for anyone anymore.

The worst thing is that you COULD build on the sequel trilogy but have to go full scorch Earth damage control on them:

Rey is evil/was always evil and is now Queen of the sith and Finn killed Poe to help her and the newly reformed Knights of Ren take over the galaxy as an openly Sith dictatorship. However Mara Jade is still alive and raised in secret a bastard son of Luke she had with him, with Kir Kanos recast as a former Royal Guard turned self taught Jedi who seduced Mara from Luke because he saw Rey's rise and Luke's son as the only one to be able to stop her.

Basically admit that they were bad and wrong and have Episode 10-12 be repudiatibg them via Luke's son killing Rey.
