Eh, I wouldn't say it mocks nor denies, it's just a very shittily done satire, but I digress. Most SJWs seem to hate Hetalia, mostly because of under-representation in the current character line-up and the Eurocentricism and a majority of characters are white male shitlords. In fact, a lot of SJW types like to brown-wash America. Of course, a lot of SJW types fail to realize/can't conceptualize that Europe, the main theater of Hetalia, is not very racially diverse- ethnically, yes; racially, no. Most SJWs that are in the fandom seem to be attracted by the potential for homosexual/interracial romance- never mind how offensive it might be to ship countries.
Although, SJWs often base their complaint of under-representation off the fact that strips taking place in the modern day do exist. However, my impression of Himaruya- the manga's author- is that he is simply more interested in the history of the Northern Hemisphere and perhaps just doesn't know enough about, say, South American or African countries to incorporate those countries into the manga.
The thing with Hetalia is that SJWs wanna sperg about POC characters... While entirely ignoring the existing ones.
Asian characters: Japan, S. Korea, China, Taiwan♀, Hong-Kong, Macau, Vietnam♀, Thailand, India
African characters: Cameroon, Seychelles♀
Middle-Eastern characters: Turkey, Egypt (& Ancient Egypt♀), Turkish Cyprus(?)
Latin American characters: Cuba, Ecuador

You see that? It's a good list, right? Well they don't care because they only care about the European characters anyway.
Shipping is a big part of the fandom, there's no denying that. A lot of people have created a sub-fandom dedicated to focusing on historically accurate ships or offer a more '''realistic''' twist on popular hawt yaois (example: France and England ripping each other a new one rather than being made of fluff and cinnamon rolls uwu)
The modern Hetalia fandom usually strays away from canon material, either in favor of history or in the more autistic shipping for the hawt gays bs. Both are kinda stupid but eh, I can't offer judgement in any case.
