Considering Hamilton is basically Tumblr : the Musical, it's crazy to see them hate on it.

Eh. In Hamilton's defense, it doesn't have a ton of genderspecials nor declaring that everything is problematic. Really, it just has a bunch of black and latino actors playing characters that were historically white.

Maybe that's why they hate it. Because it's not Tumblr enough.

All jobs require social skills. Every job requires you to socialize with people whether they be customers or coworkers. You can't just occasionally say "hi" to your people. You're gonna have to actually talk to them. Every field of employment requires that.

That last bit is actually true on Tumblr. Basically, if you say "I'm colorblind" or "I look at the person, not their skin color," you may as well be a nazi. And even if you throw yourself down at feet of color and apologize for the sins of your ancestors (even if your ancestors never encountered anyone outside of their country of origin), that's not good enough.

The only way for white people not to be racist is to kill themselves and leave all of their money to Tumblrinas of Color in their will.

So I've been thinking, how long to you think Tumblr as a website has left to live? What should we do when the blue hellsite inevitably closes its doors because Yahoo doesn't want to pay to keep it open any more? Where will all our (still active) cows head too?

Most of them use twitter or will probably move to twitter when the hellsite scares them away or the hellsite burns itself into oblivion (rory is a good example of someone being called out and making twitter their main stomping ground.)

Twitter does have one really appealing feature for the average tumblr denizen: when you block someone they can't see your tweets. Presumably when tumblr users want staff to "fix the block feature" they mean make it more like Twitter's.

Also locked accounts that people you approve of can see are on Twitter.
