On the topic of the attorneys, both Laurie Wasserman and Tim Conlon have some bad reviews on various lawyer sites. Friday should be a fun day.
And in Rose's corner, we (presumably, since he was in that video with her) have Tim Conlon.
So the verdict (heh)? I think they both have the potential to be pretty good lawyers, but my guess is that Conlon's probably more competent since he has a lot more reviews online, so he might have more clients/a bigger impact on them. Although, it could always be that Wasserman just doesn't have clients that like posting reviews online. Conlon appears to have more years of experience, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's better than Wasserman. So I think the hearing will be anyone's game, really.
There's only one on this site, it's not exactly glowing.
Two reviews on this site, both negative.
Her only positive review is found here
That was literally it, she doesn't have much of a web presence outside of "profiles" about her firm. No Google reviews, either.
Laurie Wasserman was my attorney in my child custody case. She caused such disruption to the case that I had no choice but to seek representation by another attorney midway through. Her firm forgave the money that I owed as a result of her errors.
Two reviews on this site, both negative.
Ms. Wasserman lacks both knowledge and tact. She charges for every second she spends with a client - on the phone, email, etc. She is the least empathic person I have met and the worst attorney as well.
I retained this woman because she said she would dial up my former husband and come up with a settlement to a very serious dispute. She said she could probably get him to be reasonable. Instead, she called him on the phone and he charmed her into some settlement that he dictated, that isn't even legal. I had to fire her on the spot. Don't even draw up agreements that aren't legal and recommend that I sign them. She also charges for every second she has to deal with you.
Her only positive review is found here
I have known Laurie Wasserman for over 10 years and we have been adverse to one another on several matters. She is a highly professional and competent attorney.

He has a lot more reviews, so therefore MUCH more positive reviews, but still plenty of negative. There are more positive than negative, but still, the bad reviews are worth combing through.
I'll start with the positives.
Most of the positive reviews on this page say the same thing, that he was helpful and aggressive and helped people get custody of their kids.
Some of these are also from his Google reviews and from a site called "Lawyer Ratingz."
And I'll just copy and paste all the negatives here for your viewing pleasure.
Couldn't find anything online about him being investigated for misconduct apart from a note on one website that said there were no instances of misconduct on his part, or any win/loss records (unsurprising considering they don't exist lol).

I met Tim in September of 2011 after my ex had my petition for paternity fraudulently dismissed under an obscure privacy law. Tim managed to do what has not been done in Maryland courts before as far as I know . Actually , while waiting for my case to get into court, a similar case was heard in Marylands supreme court where the man in my position in that case was denied and has no rights to his child . Tim has proven to be a capable attorney and understands the legal system very well. After nearly a full year of not seeing my son Tim was able to secure a court order commanding my ex to allow access and visitation. I have been impatient, angry and irritable through this miserable process and been less than pleasant at times with Tim and his awesome assistant Beth. So far I'm pleased with Tims representation. My case is just a few weeks away from trial where I look to do very well... I will update post mid March.
Finding yourself facing the daunting task of fighting to see your kids is a scary proposition. In today's world, everything is a fight for us guys, regardless of anything you read. It's a sad state of affairs out there when you have to spend 2 years in litigation, over 40 hours in court, and countless lawyer meetings, counselor meetings, etc. But if you do, you want to have Tim Conlon in your corner. Not only is he a good lawyer, but he is proficient in acting as a pseudo counselor, because let's face it, this is a horrible situation to be in. Fighting your ex to just have fair and equitable time with your kids is a frustrating ordeal. Tim guided me through it and we finally won and got equal time. He is patient, kind and forceful when necessary. He's busy, tho, so the patience must be practiced on both sides! But you want a lawyer that's in demand! His staff is very knowledgeable also and I'm glad I made the decision to go with The Custody Place
Tim Conlon is a amazing attorney. He is kind, honest and above all else willing to help people when they really need it. I decided to divorce my ex husband but I didn't work and had no money to pay for a lawyer. I was in an extremely toxic and dangerous relationship. Tim took the time to help me. PRO BONO! Countless phone calls, amended documents , fillings and countless court appearances. Thanks to him I got my divorce, custody and child support exactly where is should be. He even paid for the Soberlink device for my ex husband so my children could see their father at Christmas. I highly recommend him.
I met Tim in August 2013, to say that he and his staff have been helpful is an understatement. Tim has taken what could very easily be the most difficult time of my life and make it so much easier. His thoughts are with his clients and very much with his client's children.
I would and do very highly recommend Tim Conlon and The Custody Place for everyone.
I was referred to Tim by a friend of mine to handle my divorce. He patiently explained all the different situations and suggested the path I should take. Different people have different opinions on such a difficult decision and period in their life and Tim was happy to be as aggressive in some areas and as restrained in others. He was responsive to my communication, not only answering my questions, but also forward looking as to what would happen with decisions that were made. I respect him a great deal and have no hesitation in wholeheartedly recommending him as a divorce attorney in Frederick, MD.
And I'll just copy and paste all the negatives here for your viewing pleasure.
I hired Tim to help through a very tough and dangerous custody/divorce. He assured me it was an open and shut case, he told everything I wanted to hear he never came through. I rarely talked I him only his secretary, living out of state I was unable to afford very month airfare for court which he knew well in advance. He filed papers the day before hearings and did not provide evidence to dispute against my ex, there was death threats, he spent time in jail etc, this was never provided to the courts. I had to hire a new lawyer and greatly put myself in debt and almost went to jail because of his incompetence. I have filed a complaint at the bar and may be filing charges Tim put a minor child in grave danger with a abusive person..
This lawyer did absolutely nothing for me!! After a few thousand dollars I had not accomplished anything and was feeling incredibly uncomfortable with my case. Mr. Conlon kept telling me it was an open and close case and that I would be awarded full custody, no problem, but every time we went to court he couldn't even remember my name let alone talk about what was going on or provide any kind of evidence to support my claims that my ex was an incompetent father. We were dealing with physical abuse here, I had pictures, and Mr. Conlon didn't do anything. He never spoke in court nor did I ever feel like he was fighting for me. I would have done better off on my own! Thank goodness I made a decision to get a different attorney, however before I could fire Mr. Conlon, I received a letter in the mail that he was quitting. He never bothered to speak with me about it and even mailed the letter on the day he had done the deposition with my ex! I met with him that day and he said nothing!!
Granted, these three seem to be from the same person (the "he promised it'd be an open and shut case" and saying he didn't present evidence and later quit, and they were all posted under "anonymous," but I figured it was worth sharing.I hired Mr. Conlon to represent me in my custody case. When I first met with him, he assured me that mine was an "open & shut case," and that there was no way my ex-husband would get what he was requesting. Tim was so confident, that he even assured me that my ex would be ordered to pay MY legal fees. Throughout the year-long process, it was extremely difficult to get a hold of Tim when I had questions. Multiple meetings were scheduled with both Tim and his legal secretary, and on numerous occasions they either did not show up at all, or they showed up 45 minutes late. Nothing was ever done in regards to my case until a few days before (sometimes even 1 day before) my hearings/trials. I provided Tim with HUNDREDS of e-mails from my ex that would have COMPLETELY PROVEN MY CASE. At the trial, Tim did not present a single e-mail! The only 2 pieces of evidence that he submitted were a transcript from my first trial, and his bill! Both of which were completely useless. HE DID NOT PRESENT A SINGLE PIECE OF EVIDENCE IN MY DEFENSE, despite having numerous e-mails to prove that my ex was lying! In the end, not only did I not get awarded my legal fees, but I was ordered to pay my ex's legal fees AND ALMOST ENDED UP IN JAIL! In the end, I was ordered to pay more than $13,000 in legal fees for my ex and my children. That's ON TOP OF the $7,000 for Tim's fees! My child support was also reduced by 25%. For a single mother raising 4 young children, that's a major deal! I will likely end up having to file bankruptcy over all this. The worst part is, after filing a motion for a new trial on my behalf, Tim QUIT his job as my lawyer with NO EXPLANATION and NO DISCUSSION with me. He gave me no reason for why he was quitting, and did not have the decency to call me and tell me himself. He sent me a letter in the mail, like a coward. If you are looking for an attorney who is going to fight for you and put 100% effort into your case, do not hire Tim Conlon. His past experience is NOT indicative of his present capabilities.
I hired him to go back to court with my x and when i had office visit he told me everything i wanted to hear. His staff are did not know what they were doing. I called his office a ton of times because ge tells you that everything will be online for viewing. Nothing was ever except right before we were suppose to go to court. Everything my x was bringing me back for should have been trown out! I didn't make anymore money actually i made less money. She said i didn't pay half of copays for one she never gave them to me to pay and in the end she owed me more money in copays. I was told we were going to court to put motions to object in and we get to court he tells me we are going to negotiate! Oh my x also stated i wasnt paying daycare ( she was on state assistance until she married the guy she was having affair with) when she got dropped by the state i started paying 50% . Tim did not even realize he did not have any of my pay stubs until we went to court ( i saw him in office 2 months prior to court date) i told him multiple times i wanted to go in front of judge i have the kids almost 50% of tge time he refused my many requests and settled. Then he had the nerve to charge me 2500.00 + for 3 hours in court noooooo prep work. Doooo not waste your time and money !!! He does nothing he says he is going to do and if you don't agree with him he will settle for you whether you like it or not then charge you an arm and leg for NOTHING but a good screwing.
I contacted Mr. Conlon and informed him about my child custody case. He assured me over the phone that he would handle the case and that the situation was cut and dry. I drove to his office a few days later to meet with him. He did not show up for our appointment. I called him and he did not answer. I received a call from him around mid night that night. He sounded intoxicated on his voice message.
I would absolutely not recommend him to anyone. He got my $3000 retainer and that's the last I heard from him.
Very unorganized and not fit to represent anyone. These positive ratings are probably from his friends and family.
Horrible, unprofessional and unprepared. I agree with all the other reviews and I feel their pain. His tactic to get you as a client is comparable to a dishonest carsalesman trying to sell you a fancy car without an engine. A lot of promises at the beginning with no delivery. He had no clue as to what he was doing, he lost documents and he did not follow through. I honestly don't know how he is still in practice. He needs to be sued.
I agree with the former post and must add: he missed court dates or showed up late, was denied motions for lack of proper service -- was left homeless and broke; did not subpoena my ex's financials and encouraged me to accept a financial settlement totaling less than a vehicle purchase we made in 2006; in short -- I lost everything because of him. run don't walk if he approaches you in court (like he did to me)...he's the worst attorney on the planet and is now being investigated for misconduct based on what he did to my case
He was the worst attorney I have ever seen I did all the work that needed to be done he just collected the money if you check his record you will find that he wins very few cases it was quite obvious that he was clueless as to what he was doing.
Couldn't find anything online about him being investigated for misconduct apart from a note on one website that said there were no instances of misconduct on his part, or any win/loss records (unsurprising considering they don't exist lol).
