Nexpo/YT Horror Channels - Do they all suck

Is it an American thing, or is most youth nowadays this unimaginative and braindead?
It's a mix of harmful ideologies - it kills creativity, since you can't possibly conceive any 'wrong-think' and all the answers are supposedly there; the dogshit western media from the past 15 years rotting the brain of the young - same explanation from point #1; autists confusing anxiety with fear - the majority of those fucks don't know what being scared is, they're all a bunch of anxious babies that need everything explained for them NOW or they lose interest; and the internet by itself answering every single puzzle/situation on any game - you don't get stuck on anything anymore, just google the solution after 5 minutes of frustration.

Edit: I forgot another element: the intense sanitization of everything, be it for marketing purposes or because of dubious guidelines from the big sites. That by itself kills anything too avant-garde and experimental, burying what could have been a good idea.

Fear is born from the unknown, the more you explain the more bland it becomes. That's why I can never take shit like SCP, FNAF and Lobotomy Corporation seriously; too much information about everything 'strange' makes things 'not strange' anymore. Silent Hill 2 is a masterpiece because you need to piece together the elements being thrown at you by the game, and even then the answers you might reach are not fully satisfactory. I miss the time when people did horror and stayed in the shadows, instead of going face-first into the spotlight to shill a patreon and kill the suspension of disbelief ASAP. /rant

Not a horror channel, but last night I stumbled on this remake of Clock Tower. It's got a look to it I really enjoy; maybe that of a fever dream? Sadly, it was totally nixed and not available in any form aside from a soundtrack and below videos.

Archive since if this Youtube video goes I'm pretty sure this project will be lost for good:

One interesting fact is it was made in RPG Maker XP, which is rather impressive. You can hear the default menu bloops at 18:23.

The creator later went on to make Remothered, which looks like literally every other game on the market. What a waste.

That's not a new development. Think back to 10-15 years ago when creepypasta was in its heyday, Jeff the Killer story just came out and every underage creepypasta fanboy rushed to make a pasta of their own about angsty troubled OC just like Jeff. I think Creepypasta Wiki just stopped accepting these stories at some point.
I dunno why that happens. Probably due to the fact that adults have higher standards for their own work.

It's just so crazy to me how even though this is 2024 they still cannot let go of UrbanSPOOK. Just a bit of a thunkprovoking rant but i hate the cliquification of entertainment in general especially in circles on youtube. It's too easy to demonize things and create complacency when there's a community of loudmouths dictating what the viewers should find successful. They wonder why things feel so stagnant when it's like the same 8 or 10 (I'm exaggerating) Analog series' tat everyone is accepted to like.
At this point ive grown tired of the Lore tism in ARG shit, i think the last one i liked that had alot of obscure refernces was Dr Bosch. And pretty much only because alt universe tism hits my personal autism for some reason, and the visuals were actually comptent/interesting
The recent minecraft ARGs and shitty nickelodeon hijacking rewrite were some of the most boring shit i only tolerated because i was very bored and used them as backdrop for other shit, there was also the godzilla suit one which i thought was decent but i kinda forgot about it quick
I tend to tune out when there's just too much going on. It might be interesting but i can't keep track of everyone wanting to be the next big series with novelization level lore in what is supposed to be just some horror stuff but i digress. If you mean Man in the Suit i can't remember when i checked out last but it was one of my favorite recentish AH series but i kind of forgot about it. Bit of tism here but there's that Sonic AH (Sonic Tapes I think is what it is called i could be wrong) that was alright but i sort of stopped being interested for the same reasons when they want it to be more cool than scary (Which i get is silly in the context of it being Sonic related).

This is all that you needed to be scary. Hell, I remember having the same effect IRL after reading Slenderman and my hyperactive teen mind seeing him in the forest. I am genuinely mad over how now all the horror has to be front and center with all of the same ropes repeated ad nauseam. I remember how the Internet horror was there for my mind to create the real horror, and that was the fun of it all. Is it an American thing, or is most youth nowadays this unimaginative and braindead? :stress:

To be fair, stuff like this was never a new or shocking phenomenon. Kids like things that they think scares them, so when they make their own, it's always how they assume people popularly think horror is/should be. They simply copy what gets big and what gives people the more popular idea on how horror should function.

Analog Horror did the worst of this, actually. Like, the worst. The massive boom of it in the 2020s became one of the bigger standpoints that horror no longer has no purpose of being mysterious or left you with a thousand questions over a single answer. You NEED everything explained. You NEED thousands of theories. You NEED to be coddled that the BIG SCARY MONSTER SHOWN IN YOUR FACE is just an adorable little creature to slap merch to.

Horror has also became very safe edgy. You can't discuss or even mention specific topics about certain mobs attacking you. They love acting like they're #1 horror fans but crash out the moment someone does something against their safe edgy thought process.

It's not an American thing. Though, it's most notably an American thing in terms of active discussion. Kids aren't allowed to be imaginative because they're not able to express that imagination to its fullest potential, ESPECIALLY if they're around leftist spaces where one mistake will render their chances of losing everything by 50%. Or in other cases, due to their skills or unfortunate poor planning/work, get harassed by many people for daring to not be a professional at a specific thing. The Man in the Suit is the most prominent example, though, it still deserves to be critiqued as a "run on the mill analog horror series #9496496496" project without the need to get on the young artist's case.

Not to mention it was common even back in the early days to make fun of kids for being kids online. To make fun of them for not having ArtStation-quality art or writing. Many adults today often complain about their stuff not being taken seriously or made fun of because mocking kids were the easiest content shill to do back in the days and led to them really hindering themselves because of that affect.

So in a way, kids became unimaginative because they weren't allowed to be imaginative and the later years where it became more stigmatized to commit such acts ended up coddling them as a safeguard. That safeguard ultimately makes it impossible to critique kids because they're kids, and that you can't really go far with critiquing their stuff without people thinking you're harassing them.

The internet (and real life) kinda told kids their work didn't matter for YEARS and did everything to undermine a kids' potential of creativity because they so happened to be a kid. People overtime learned it was a bad thing, only to go too far with it and now as long as you're a minor, you can create AAANNYTHINGGG you want and get a free dozen pack of white knights to defend your stuff at any interval.

It's what people get wrong about criticism. There's a major difference between harassing and giving honest thought. But you can't give honest thought. You need to cherrypick and soften the criticism as much as possible to not "hurt the kids' feelings". While yes, I get the intent, it'll only make the child think ONLY cherry picked criticism is the only form of good criticism.

It gives them a terribly misguided understanding on handling and receiving criticism. And thus, for a lot of projects, especially analog horror ones, it's essentially impossible to really give a brutally honest critique because "erm im 16 years old you can't say allat, you need to soften the blow so i can continue not doing anything to improve my work". You can be a brutally honest critique without dumbing the dang child down or calling them insults. It's not that difficult to!

TL;DR;, Modern 2020s kids are unimaginative because of past factors (making fun of kids on the internet for being literal newbies/inexperienced) that had to get strongly revised to create the newer factors (shielding kids because critiquing them is a nono and if you DO critique them, you need to kneel down to them and talk about it in a very softened way) that prevents a kid from being able to do more because everyone praises them at their current level.

Yeah since the jump this has been it. The 1000s of shitty slender spin-offs (which EMH diluted their product with by integrating into their own story and collaborating with), haunted games, and now AH/DH/EAS slop. Slender spin-offs and then SCP leaving 4chan's orbit were the largest floodgates imo.

You see a lot the bigger AH creators recognise it now, but in turn the best they can do is ape Kane Pixel's style into their own projects, which in turn has revealed how limited their creative reach really is. Alex Kirster doesn't know which way to take Mandela and only cares about distancing it from the AH tropes which are now laughed at, but in turn made his series a lot worse and unpalatable because he's trying to be an artfag without the skill or the vision Kane has.

AH still has a lot to give, the Sponegebob broadcast hijack that got posted here and that Dentist parody AH video are funnily enough two of the better projects to come out in years and use a lot of what makes AH and DH good, its just like what @didelphigina says - these people are too obsessed with getting a plushie made about their retarded monster nobody above the age of 14 cares about.

I'm sick of ARG's and analog horror in general, I wish we got something else in horror that isn't "Le cute thing is actually evil" or anything that needs to think it needs deep lore.
I just want an evil bastard who murders for fun.

Analog horror can work, but you are 100% correct is is littered with "But cute thing" or "We need 5000 pages of lore".

Just do something creepy and keep doing creepy thing in the format of found video.

Muta is just not 'interesting enough' to warrant his own thread. What are the big scandalous things he's doing besides being insufferable on YouTube? He's not diddling kids, not doing OnlyFans, and generally doesn't have a ton of controversial opinions that are even really worth talking about.

Speaking of insufferable, maybe it's just me but Tuv is getting more and more annoying with each video. Shilling his merch (which looks horrible imo? Just me?), his music (which is also boring as shit), his instagram... We get it, you're slowly developing an ego that's too huge for your own good, mate.
Sorry for necroing, just wanted to say that I feel bad for liking Tuv; he's too normie Gen Z, but his content's interesting. BlameItOnJorge's better, though.

Was playing Minecraft recently, deep in a cave and doing good for myself, went to loop around to keep exploring some areas I left and as I headed down a tunnel that had a rather sharp right I thought I saw a spindly black hand with long sharp fingers Wendigo-style poking out from behind the corner, wasn't even blocky like regular Minecraft. I don't think I even reacted and I was already taking the right by the time it registered, then again I only slept for 4 hours today and my eyes have been dry all week. All you need is an imaginative mind, your brain to not be up-to-standard, and a few seconds of autopilot/inattention to imagine something that isn't there.

I stopped watching tuv real fast when the first 10 minutes of every video was him justifying why he was watching 'something problematic' followed by him positioning himself as some arbiter of who can like/watch what.
Think he was also hardcore simping for OF girls in one video too, absolute trainwreck.

Do you have recommendation for a youtuber of similiar content, genre etc... just without all the cringe inducing shit tuv has? It's been a while since I has good content to watch on YT, so if you got any idea, it will help me a lot.

This faggot and his sponsor segments piss me off, the transition from discussing some pedophile who molested his step daughter to some retarded law firm is fucking egregious

[EDIT]

WTF was this ending? He said "And who knows... perhaps gods only prophet is looking down on us right now..."

I was watching this guy as talking about an AI cult and my god he is such a fucking fag "ermm have you considered that your religion might not be the real one or none of them are real" just talk about the fucking cult and don't shove your smug beliefs in the damn video. Smug liberal Canadians deserve to be thrown into the brazen bull.

"ermm have you considered that your religion might not be the real one or none of them are real"
He dedicated an entire video about people falling for an old (I think late 90's early 2000's) clip of angels singing on Mt. Athos that was edited, at least his other videos aren't as niggerlicious.

its really hard because they're all really bad these days unfortunately, even harder because tuv is pretty diversified in the content he puts out now. Nick Crowley's backlog is always good if you've never gone through it, older Nexpo stuff too.

For his upload rate and spread, tuv probably is still the best at that style though. Phillion used to be good but he's completely phoned it in now and just vod uploads his shit, which his audience is hammering him hard on.

Started to watch today nick because of you, up until now I'm really enjoying his content. Thanks
