A few years ago some sick fucks hacked into the Epilepsy Foundation's website and covered the page in flashing gifs. And yes, a lot of people ended up having seizures when they visited.

Seizures suck donkey balls. And fuck this guy for exploiting his epilepsy for political purposes. You know, you're famous, you have a really debilitating condition. Maybe you could try raising awareness for what people go through, raise money for research, for those who can't afford treatment, etc.

Nope, it's all, "I HAVE EPILEPSY YOU CAN'T PICK ON ME!!!!" Fuck that shit.

Anybody that thinks they should never get picked on because "uwu I'm special, I have a disability/am a Minority" should get picked on, not because they're a minority or disabled, but because they're cunts.

Reichenwald is using his Epilepsy to persecute another person for basically being mean in the internet to him. And I lay you odds that if it wasn't THIS dude, he would have found another poor sap to take the fall for it. After all, he is SICK! He can't be held responsible for his actions! Screw this dude. Seriously. I know the whole "Ha ha, you shit it pants during seizures!" myth kind of make for good teasing, but this guy is just trying to add more fuel to the fire here.

Kurt having epilepsy doesn't make him a cunt, being a complete asshole does.

The thing about epilepsy is most of the responsibility of not having a seizure falls on the epileptic, because in public they know not everyone is going to cater to them and they can't expect that. I had a family member who was an epileptic and they were the absolute opposite of Kurt, the most they expected out of anyone else was "hey here's some basic emergency info on what to do if you see me spazzing out on the ground". Apart from that they knew "if kids are playing flashing video games im not gonna watch cause im gonna get a headache, but im not gonna force them to stop" and "im not taking these kids to see star wars because I can't handle these lasers and shit, ask someone else".

Epilepsy is not hard to manage, I've never once seen or heard of my family member go through a seizure in my entire life because they learned from an early age "this is my thing, I need to deal with this" after they apparently had their first seizure while driving and almost died, and I'm 100% sure they'd find it embarrassing that a guy is not only suing someone for posting a gif on twitter but for publicly announcing he's an epileptic like it's some huge debilitating thing.

But see @Shaftie, the problem here is that Kurt's a fucking idiot. And a pretty shitty backtracker too.

First he claims that he clicked on it, then he says it autoplayed on him. Then he goes back on that statement to say "I didn't know how to turn off Autoplay" even though it's easy as fuck. This whole thing could have easily been avoided if he knew how to turn it off from the get go, but nah. Gotta whore out that disability for some of that sweet lawsuit money.

More directly, Pillman et al (J Neuropsychiatry Clin Neurosci 1999 Fall;11(4):454-7) studied the relationship of EEG abnormalities and violent criminal behavior in 222 defendants referred for psychiatric evaluation. There was no correlation between the number of violent offenses and EEG abnormalities in general. However, focal abnormalities, especially of the left hemisphere, were related to a significantly higher number of violent offenses.

In many cases these abnormalities were accompanied by mental retardation, epilepsy, or earlier brain damage. The authors concluded that "?impairment of left hemisphere functions may enhance the propensity for violent behavior in a subgroup of offenders." Another study by Woermann et al (J Neurol Neurosurg Psychiatry 2000 Feb;68(2):162-9) found that patients with temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) and aggressive episodes had a decrease of grey matter, most markedly in the left frontal lobe, compared with the control group, and with TLE patients without aggressive episodes.
